Color girls spotlighted at Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker

I forgot to mention that today all the DT girls from Color Combos Galore were spotlighted on the blog of Nikki Sivils. We were all given the collection 'It's Raining It's Pouring' to work with as Nikki is sponsoring CCG this nmonth. that was SOOO sweet of her.

Anyway , if you want to see it all go HERE.

Take care!

Narnia Mini Musical.

This post is not so very scrapbook related, although some photos will definitely be scrapped...LOL! But I wanted to include these photos for my friends and family to see some everyday life from here!

All three of our girls have a long history of singing in the church choir. It is a tradition that I am very happy about.
This time it was Beatrice's turn to be center stage. They were staging an adapted musical version of Narnia. Beatrice was given the lead part of Edmund who would become King Edmund the Just. They were doing it together with the adult choir.

For the witch they cast Gudrun, who is normally the choir-leader. She did a great interpretation as you can see from the pictures. My MIL was also attending the performance and she did not even recognize her!

All the kids loved taking part, and the fact that it was Narnia made it all even better.

For years Beatrice has been watching her older sister do solo performances etc. She has gradually become more brave and for a couple of years now she has been doing solos herself. Beatrice put on jeans and a tank top so she would not look too girlie. That was her own idea.

Beatrice as Edmund was kidnapped and gagged by the wicked witch. The girl in pink wearing a fur played Aslan the lion. Monica in the foreground made all the music and arrangements.

Towards the end of the play they were all given crowns, and that included all the kids in the audience (and even grown ups who wanted to be king...lol )

Matilda (class mate) and Beatrice outside with their crowns on!

Thanks for looking at my pictures. We had a lovely time!

Color Combos Galore 187 / Nikki Sivils

It is that time of the week again.
Lovely Friday morning with promises of a looong weekend approaching.. I love it!!

This week the design team at Color Combos Galore were graciously sponsored by Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker.
Her products are such a delight to work with and the designs are so fun and whimsical! We were given the collection 'It's Raining it's pouring' to play with and I recommend you go HERE to see what the rest of the design team came up with. -Some seriously cute and cool stuff!

This is my take on the challenge:

And here is this weeks inspiration board:

To fulfill the requirement of using wet medium I used acrylic paint and I applied some liquid pearl as raindrops underneath the clouds. The wettest part of the process often is when I spray or drench mu papers with water. This time I immersed the white paper and wrinkled it . After inking it I used it as a photo mat for my two photos.

I just the other day received some mists I ordered from Your Scrapbook Stash ( BIG sale on, up to 50% off mists now!!!!  GO THERE! ) what you see here is actually my very first squirt of mist that I ever used. I found it to be very scary stuff indeed!! I just wanted a little but I got A LOT if you see what I mean. It is totally incontrollable....I now admire the excellent misters EVEN MORE. I foresee a steep learning curve , but with oh so much fun...Watch this space...

I was lucky to have these pictures from last Summer where Beatrice is dancing around with a big red/white golf umbrella.
From her big smile I got the title 'Rain or Shine you Always have a Big Smile on your Face'. It is the plain truthe and not just my effort to make life seem rosy. She is a happy girl my Miss B!

To add a little more dimension to my quick page I decided to use the back of the clouds I cut out from the pp as masks. I ended up with two cute stark white clouds on my paper. I then inked around the edges of the cut out clouds with blue and added them on top with pop dots. Then of course I had to add my buttons and decided to use them as rain. I added some liquid pearl and some bling to make the rain 'sparkly'. I cut a small strip of the rain-paper and added it along the top to complete the rain scene.

In this close up you can see the difference made by the pop dots:

I hope you enjoyed this, and I can recommend that you visit CCG to see what the rest of the team came up with!!

Echo Park *For the Record* Sweet Friends.

Hello I am back again!
I have been away on a sales trip for a couple of days so that's why it has been a bit quiet around here!

I did this layout before I left so it would be included in this months gallery at Your Scrapbook Stash.

Even this time I have worked with the Echo Park papers 'For the Record'. They have become big favourites of mine. I think I have finished most of it now, so don't worry, soon I will share something that is not from that collection....lol! Just in case you think I am getting boring....

Pictures here are DD Victoria with her best friend, Elsa. Not the most flattering photo of either, but I wanted to document their love of baking...-and eating,..cakes..They look so cute in those aprons!

Almost everything is EP here.Thickers are American Crafts and green flower is Prima.

The little banner was a piece that was left over on my desk and I decied to add it. It is from Fly a Kite by October Afternoon. the sentiment sticker *Now that takes the cake* is one of many useful stickers that come with For the Record.

Some more close ups!

If you like, please come back tomorrow to see the new combo for Colour Combos Galore and I will share my take on it.
We have a new sponsor and this month is extra special for us on the design team.

Bye for now!
