A feature at The Color Room

I loved palette #60 at The Color Room. It very much coincided whith what was included in the Tidbitz in Time June kit that I've had the priviledge to be playing with lately.

I posted it and I am happy to say that it resulted in a Feature spot!

Thank you so much to sweet talented Lindy who picked me!!

And here you can see the other beautiful creations that were picked!

That felt so unexpected but oh so fun!!I am really happy about it because there is so much talent in that place!

Color Combos 195 -You Make Me Smile

We are now at the very beginning of June..., so what can be more fitting for a theme at CCG this month than...SUMMER !
And the extra challenge this week is to use balloons on your layouts. I am still in love with balloons as a design element. I wonder if they will be like banners and other must havs, that they will just stay and stay... I hope so, because they look so cute!

This is my take on the combo and designers challenge this week!

I just love the inspirational photo this week. It really screams Summer and wonderful vacations to me.

Originally I had a big blue flower in the middle of my layout. You can see it in the photo on the CCG reveal page.
I decided to remove it to  open up the design, and give the photos some more space. I really wanted to use that flower but I do think this is better.

The cute little bird stamp is from Les Papier de Pandore stamped on a Prima packaging.
The balloons I cut from a Webster's Pages sheet.

The super pretty hand made doilies are from Leeann Pearce (Thank you, you awsome lady), and I just love them.
You can see Leeanns Etsy HERE

Some more close ups for you!

Thats all for now. Thanks!

One more page for Tidbitz in Time, new challenge at Once Upon A...Sketch and a feature.

Hello girls!
Today is a holiday here in Sweden, I don't know about your parts of the world. Many of us are off work tomorrow too and I won't be back working until Tuesday. Isn't that great!!!?
Today I have been working on my page for the coming Combo at Color Combos Galore, but you will not see that until tomorrow.

Today I will share one more page that I made for the "Tidbitz in Time" June kit.
I already told you I loved it. Why don't you check it out. You can see a photo of it  in my previous post. Just scroll down.

This is the layout, and as you see I have not put the journaling on the front as I felt it would be very busy.
I made a collage of the close ups.
My journaling is on a tag in a pocket I made behind the photo.

The layout was created using the June 1st sketch at Once Upon A...Sketch. You can go there to find the small print about the challenge, but here are the most important facts:

JUNE 1ST CHALLENGE

Our JOURNALLING CRITERIA this time is to journal about a female. It can be ANYONE...your self, your best friend, your daughter, grandma, mum, sister, cat. ...As long as you write at least 2 sentences about the female in the photo (you can always create a CARD or ALTERED item based on this sketch and use a quote instead)

One more thing I wanted to share today was that another one of my layouts was recently requested for an online publication. This time it was for Scrappbooking.Com Magazine.

And this was the layout:

Thanks for now. Come back soon!!

Guest designing for *Tidbitz in Time* June kit

You know how it can be,... Sometimes you don't have much to share or to write about. Then some days you have a lot. That is how it has been the last couple of days for me. Different guest stints, a feature, and tomorrow it is time again for the new sketch at Once Upon A...Sketch where I will have a new page again. That's the way I like it to be....
Today I have several pages to share with you.
I got the beautiful June kit from Tidbitz in Time to play with and I sure had some fun!!

It contains the prettiest patterned papers from "Pink Paislee" "Butterfly Garden" and "7Gypsies" "Conservatory " as well as  a beautiful array of flowers and bling from "Zva Creative". The gorgeous  ribbon that comes with the kit add a lovely finishing touch!

This is the first of my layouts. Beatrice had been playing a cat in a school play and had not washed off her whiskers yet.
They looked so cute I had to get my camera out ( well it doesn't take much for that to happen actually...). The photos I got are my new favourites and you will be seeing more pages with them I am sure!

The kit is jam packed with all the goodies you can imagine.
Just look at this picture....!
You can use the pink or blue accents like I did to adapt the kit to a boy or a girl.

The second layout is about Beatrice with her youngest cousin that she has only met twice. I used the turquoise trim as a kind of pleated border together with a punched strip.
Most of you will know by now that I love my corrugated cardboard, and usually it will be whitewashed. If you are not too fussed about acid free etc you can use the packaging that you get many times when you buy your scrap goodies on the iternet. I think that together with the pleated ribbon it adds a lot of character and texture.

I used the white ribbon to make decorations for my flower clusters. I just arranged the ribbon in loops to add some 'lift' to my page. The text paper here is by "7Gypsies" and the rest of the pp's are by "Pink Paislee"

One more to go for this time.
I cut a circle out of the gorgeous butterfly paper and backed it with grey cardstock. I thought it looked a bit dark so I dry brushed the grey with white, and that created more the look that I was aiming for.
Punched strips help me build up my design. The flowers were made with my trusted friend, the large retro flower punch.

Our kitten, Lady, is so so cute. I altered the picture in Picasa to make her sweet face stand out against the otherwise  black and white. You do that by just pressing a button so it is really easy!

And here are the close ups to go with this layout:

I had so much fun playing with this kit!

I will have a couple more pages from the kit to share a little later in the week/month...

Thank you SO much to Wendy for having me!
