Color Combos Galore 187 / Nikki Sivils

It is that time of the week again.
Lovely Friday morning with promises of a looong weekend approaching.. I love it!!

This week the design team at Color Combos Galore were graciously sponsored by Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker.
Her products are such a delight to work with and the designs are so fun and whimsical! We were given the collection 'It's Raining it's pouring' to play with and I recommend you go HERE to see what the rest of the design team came up with. -Some seriously cute and cool stuff!

This is my take on the challenge:

And here is this weeks inspiration board:

To fulfill the requirement of using wet medium I used acrylic paint and I applied some liquid pearl as raindrops underneath the clouds. The wettest part of the process often is when I spray or drench mu papers with water. This time I immersed the white paper and wrinkled it . After inking it I used it as a photo mat for my two photos.

I just the other day received some mists I ordered from Your Scrapbook Stash ( BIG sale on, up to 50% off mists now!!!!  GO THERE! ) what you see here is actually my very first squirt of mist that I ever used. I found it to be very scary stuff indeed!! I just wanted a little but I got A LOT if you see what I mean. It is totally incontrollable....I now admire the excellent misters EVEN MORE. I foresee a steep learning curve , but with oh so much fun...Watch this space...

I was lucky to have these pictures from last Summer where Beatrice is dancing around with a big red/white golf umbrella.
From her big smile I got the title 'Rain or Shine you Always have a Big Smile on your Face'. It is the plain truthe and not just my effort to make life seem rosy. She is a happy girl my Miss B!

To add a little more dimension to my quick page I decided to use the back of the clouds I cut out from the pp as masks. I ended up with two cute stark white clouds on my paper. I then inked around the edges of the cut out clouds with blue and added them on top with pop dots. Then of course I had to add my buttons and decided to use them as rain. I added some liquid pearl and some bling to make the rain 'sparkly'. I cut a small strip of the rain-paper and added it along the top to complete the rain scene.

In this close up you can see the difference made by the pop dots:

I hope you enjoyed this, and I can recommend that you visit CCG to see what the rest of the team came up with!!
