Color Combos Galore 188 /Mature for your age.

The weeks just seem to change faster and faster, I don't know what happens with time. It certainly is a scarce resource around here! LOL!
Due to various reasons I could just make a quick one for CCG this week. I had a late start, -seems like I'm always saying that.... I was able to use my kit from Your Scrapbook Stash for this weeks challenge.

On the layouts for YSS this month we are supposed to use as little decorations as possible that we have not made ourselves from paper.I used the "Fancy Pants" collection  "It's the little things" for this page.

This is what I came up with:

And here is the Inspiration Board that Janet prepared for us this week!
Doesn't it look good?
The colours are so soave...

The designer challenge is to use embossing or stenciling to add a certain chunkyness.
I used a sheet of beautiful embossed cardstock. I even used cardboard with its great texture. I love that!
I also added twine along the edges of the layout with a chunky seam to mimic the rubber seams on the boots.
Janet also suggested we use black and white photos.

Some close ups:

My journaling says that Beatrice is mature for her age. She is good at doing her chores and she understands well what is expected of her. We waited a while before getting her the kitten because we wanted her to  be able to take more responsability for it. She is now very good at making sure Lady has got her food and water, and that the litter box is cleaned.

That's all for now folks.
If you scroll down you will see the layout I made for the current Once Upon A...Sketch challenge

Thanks for looking in!

  2. Love your take on this elegant palette, the floral pp is just sooo pretty. It comes together so beautifully with the banner and the stitched-on b&w twine that goes round the whole page. I always forget the Bea is only 11, she really does seem mature for her age. Gorgeous page Bente! xxx

  8. Bente this layout is absolutely fabulous my dear! I love the personal touches that you have given it & your black & white photos make it very sauve indeed! The time thing you talk of is a universal problem & not easily solved. I never feel I do enough in any area or that my work is ever finished & sometimes I drag myself through the day or even the night through force. I think the results are worth it though to live a life full of interaction & excitement for this wonderful craft of ours & your work certainly adds to this experience for me!!
