Papirdesign June challenge, and some pretty cards with flowers on them :-)

We have a new challenge on  the Papirdesign blog lasting no less than two months.
Here is what we say about it:

**It is finally Summer, and we have two moodboards for you for our Summer challenge. Interpret them as you like. You can be inspired by the colors, the pictures, memories or what you like. It would be nice if you tell us what inspired you when you make your project. We have an awesome price for you, that you can win if you use products from Papirdesign. You are of course free to join in anyway;-). No back linking please. Here are the moodboards and what inspired us:**

And here's mood board number two:

I created my card using mood board number one. This is what card number one looks like:

And a couple of close ups:

Apart from the awesome Papirdesign product I used some pretty amazing dies from Sizzix.

Tattered Florals
Sizzix framelits set, ovals

I used:
Forventning- En Rose til Jubilanten
Forventning - Vakre Blomster
Halvperler- rosa, hvite
Miniroser, rosa nyanser
Alfabet.- hvite

----------OOOO-----------

My card number two was made for a different post on the Papirdesign blog and not for the mood board challenge. It's a birthdaycard for a friend. 'Grattis' actually means 'congratulations' in Swedish.

The large flower is a handmade one using Papirdesign papers and the other flowers are the usual PD beauties. I misted the handmade flower to blendit  in with my colourscheme .

I use liquid pearls around the edge to enhance the feminine feel to the card.

I used:
Forventning- HÄndballkamp
Forventning- Vakre blomster
Papirdesign- Englesang
SmÄ gardenia- lysrosa
Pion- rosa
Bokstavsklistremerker- hvit

'Happy' for Inkido GDT at SATW.

I guess by now it's no news to any of you that Scrap Around the World is celebrating their anniversary and that there is a lot of things going on over there. One of their awesome sponsors is Inkido, and the DT was invited to guest design for them. You can read about it here:

“This month we are excited to announce that we are one of the TEN EPIC EVENT ANNIVERSARY event sponsors at Scrap Around The World & are also one of their Guest Design Teams!  Our DT coordinator Agnieszka is also representing us as one of the 10 chosen Guest Judges & we are so pleased to be involved in this great event, celebrating SATW’s First Birthday!

This is no ordinary month at Scrap Around the World.  9 out of 10 of the prizes awarded will be going to past Winners, Features or Finalists (those featured on their legendary Wall of Fame in the past year) & one prize will be awarded to a totally NEW winner {someone who has never featured on their Wall of Fame before}.  This is so that TEN EPIC WINNERS can be selected as the TOP TEN PLAYERS of 2013/14 at Scrap Around The World!

This will be a yearly competition held at this fantastic challenge blog & we are honoured to be a part of this inaugural event.  Please support Helen & her team at SATW by playing along this month.  There are 10 prizes, each valued at approximately $100 up for grabs, including free postage as usual, so it is so worth it, plus the inspiration is amazing!”

Inkido supplies used
Spring Time {Romantic Roses}

I mixed several of the older collections on this page.
I think the Inkido papers are great for doing just that !

A closer look at my GD page for Scrap Around the World.(And some bragging :-) )

This is the page I made recently as a guest designer for
Inkido was a previous sponsor and we were delighted when Helen asked us to interpret the September mood board. This is such a fun challenge!
I promised I would post some close ups of my page today so here goes .-)

And here is a picture of the mood board and sketch for Gayle's challenge.
Isn't it just gorgeous?!!

I started out taking inspiration from the stripes (background sheet), the words 'flying' out from the head (my butterflies), the large title (also a quote) and the black and white photo of a person.
I also did a loose interpretation of the available sketch, picking just a few  of the elements.

I fussy cut a lot of tiny flowers from one of the sheets in the 'Beautiful Memories' collection.
I believe the flowers are are poppies.

I picked Inkido's  small butterfly stamp  and combined it with some other butterflies that I cut out. They were all embellished with some bling and pearl stones. Inkido do these in several colours and they are so great to add to all kinds of projects.

I find the internet is such a great source when you are searching for various inspiration, and for
this challenge I decided I needed a good quote. This was just one of several quotes that I found.

After cutting out the words with my Silhouette Cameo I backed them with pink paper, except for the words black and white that I wanted to stand out against the background.
As you can see from this close up I also added some freestyle sewing with my machine. I find it adds a lot of interest without being intrusive or  taking anything away from the design.

Talking of design,.... I was very pleased to finf out this page was a winner in the latest challenge over at Scrap & Music. I have hardly taken part in any challenges lately but that is something I would like to change ,.)

Thanks for checking out my page today. :-)
There is still a lot of time to take part in the challenge at SATW, or why not Sabrinas September challenge at Inkido to use layers and borders?

Hugs!
