Once Upon a ..Sketch and Get Creative mix it up for the month of February!

Hi everyone! A new month means a new challenge and we have something pretty interesting for you this month.

At Once Upon A...Sketch, we are nearing the end of our first year and during this time we have noticed a huge amount of support from many countries around the world. We are incredibly lucky that our challenges are supported by so many people from all different parts of the globe.
One of these countries is Greece, and we have come to realise that we receive many entries from such a small country where scrapbooking is so new, so we had a think and decided to team up with another challenge blog based in Greece and run by our very own Irini Liolia called Get Creative. How exciting!!

We have decided to become "sister" blogs, because let's face it...most of us scrapping are women and is there anything stronger than a sisterhood? So for this month only, the Design Team from Once Upon A..Sketch are guests over at Get Creative and taking part in THEIR 1st and 15th of the month challenges and the Design Team from Get Creative are guests on Once Upon A..Sketch! Thus a new bond is formed between 2 challenge blogs.
So head on over to  Get Creative to see what our team did with the challenges and maybe play along too.
Oh and never fear! We have been keeping an eye on some other countries and their blogs too and we will do this again with some very popular blogs from other countries.

February 1st Challenge
Journalling Criteria/theme: LOVE
February 14th is Valentines Day here in Australia and in many parts of the world. For this challenge we would like you to create a project about the one MALE you love. And we do not mean just your partner or spouse. We mean any male in your life.
Ideas for journalling: You could journal about the love you have for your son, father, grandfather or a special person in your life or any pet.
Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.
You must combine our journalling criteria/theme with this sketch

Apart from layouts by the awesome Get Creative team we have some inspirational guest designers too.
Trina McClune from New Zealand and our previous winner Jeanette Lee have beautiful projects to share on the blog.

Welcome to join in the fun!!
I have not had a chance to finish a layout for ths sketch yet but when I do I will share it. Please come back and share yours with us at OUAS!!

Enjoy the rest of your week end!!

Les Papiers de Pandore. New Webzine No.11, a sketch and a couple of layouts.

A new month, and imagine,...February already!!
I always have a lot to share at the beginning of a month so I had better start with one of my recent pages for Les Papiers de Pandore.

I used one of the photos from the photo shoot we had with a photographer in the garden. I will be scrapping more of those...

I love the subdued colours of this collection. It is so versatile you don't have to use it just for
Winter layouts.

Well from these photos you can tell that sometimes the conditions are far from ideal for photographing layouts. Just look at the rain outside my window!
When I complain about the conditions, this is what it is like...

I used a tiny frame fromMelissa Grances. Sooo cute...!

For my title I used the awesome chipboard from Imaginarium Designs. They have a wonderful choice of shapes and styles and I can wholeheartedly recommednd them!!
The word shapes I used you can find HERE

I dripped some mist and some small splashes of paint and voilá it's inished!!

The flying bird was cut with a Quickutz die.

I am so looking forward to sharing the latest papers fromLes Papiers d Pandore. They are so full of beauty. I think it may actually be the best until now!!

While we are waiting to reveal Julie Blanc's stunning new release we can entertain ourselves with the latest webzine. Some of the talented ladies in the design team are sharing projects mixed up with beautiful submissions from her readers.

If you are interested in her Webzine there is only one way to receive it, and that is by signing up for the newsletter HERE. You will find it on the right hand side. Just fill in your e-mail to start with.

I am quite thrilled with the sketch Julie created from  my page!

Here is a larger version of the sketch in case you want to use it.

Ok friends, I am off to have my dinner. I am starving!
Take care!

A mini album using mainly Pink Paislee goodies.

It is no secret that I love the gorgeous products from Pink Paislee and am one of the first in line
as well, when it comes to ordering their warehouse boxes.
They are so brim filled that it is difficult to find ways to use it all up. I
I have long wanted to start making more mini albums and this is the first one ever that I started and finished!! LOL!

I had a whole bunch of cute photos of Beatrice and little Lady, and decided to use those for my project.

I made a collage in Picasa with some of the inside pages so as not to overwhealm you with too many detail photos,...I know I do that sometimes....lol.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my little album. I have to rush off to work now, and hope your day turns out wonderfully!!
Take care!!

Another layout with "The ScrapCake" "The Bright Side of Life" and a feature at The Paper Variety!

As I told you recently I managed to finally get hold of the previous collections from "The ScrapCake" by Karola Witczak. I have so enjoyed playing with my papers and tags.
I have spent a little time the last few evenings to finish my scond layout that  want to share with you.

I love using my Cheery Lynn doily dies at the moment, or should I say I love them still...
I added a lot of blooms, mostly Prima, but also others from my stash.

The title letters are from American Crafts Thickers. I used parts of a thin metal decoration as embellishments too.I found it in the sale and there are a lot of little branches to be cut off.

I fussy cut the roses off some of the papers. What looks like tags with the journaling on is what was left of one of the half sized papers after I cut away the roses from the other side.
There are quite a lot of useful elements for example to cut out.

A close up of some of my layering.

My flower cluster with a close up of the metal twigs. I also added some vintage lace.

I love those Prima blooms. They are so soft and feminine.

This afternoon I took my layout ouside briefly to get a better photograph. Unfortunately one of these flowers was not stuck down properly and just ble away....
I looked for it for a while but the wind took it!
That is so typical :-)

Before I go I am happy to tell you that another layout I made with The Scrapcake papers
was featured today at The Paper Variety.
Made me smile!!

I hope all of you find something to make you happy too!!
TGIF!!
