A round canvas for Blue Fern Studios October sketch.

Hello again!
This round canvas is my second project for Blue Fern Studios this month. I had this canvas for a while, but being mostly a 'layout-girl' myself, I didn't quite know how to approach it. In the end I opted for creating the most beautiful and delicate background, (in my own humble opinion LOL )
just to cover the entire thing up..... I should have taken an in-between shot,... :-)

As inspiration for my canvas I used the October sketch by Michelle Singh.
Lovely isn't it?

I turned it upside down and took a free approach as you should with a sketch,
but I think you can still see the resemblance. Read all about the challenge HERE.

I used calling cards from the Frolic collection as a title for my canvas.
The Butterfly Friends chipboard received a coat of white paint, some glitter and a light application of the green mist Imagine Ink Leaf. Also the large Frolic Mesh Bits chipboard was treated similarly.

I added a few leftover pieces of chipboard here and there, you can see them in the photo above.
I dont ever throw those little tresures away :-)

Finally one more close up close up of the gorgeous Butterfly Friends, inked and glittered !

Thank you so much for taking a lok at my canvas and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!

XOXO

'A Perfect Moment' for Blue Fern Studios

Hello friends!!
Only one week left of October,...where did time go?  Every year flies by faster than the other and today I actually found the  Blue Fern Studios Christmas collection on my 'doorstep'.
As you would expect it is totally gorgeous, but that will be for another post.
Today I have a project to show you that uses Autumn Anthology.

I used the Robin paper as a base and the Cottage paper on top.  I used a brayer to add a thin layer of           gesso to prime my paper for the Imagine Ink Sky mist and the Love Story 2 stamp set.

I cut a piece from the Shabby Brick Panel chipboard and haphazardly  painted it white. I then just gave it a slight splash of the same mist I used earlier.
And can you see that tiny little aprocot coloured blossom? I made it with the Tiny Tattered Florals set from Sizzix. (660227). And those lovely looking script words are made using another  Sizzix die Friendship Words: Script. (660225)

I picked a choipboard title to suit my page and after priming with gesso I painted it with blue acrylic paint. To finish the look I added some Distress stickles on top. I used a third choipboard piece here as well, but it may be hard to detect,....-It's the arrow from the Directions set.
But instead of painting it, this time I covered it in a cute washi tape.

So here's a closer look at the pretty colours in this page, and as you see I also cut some strips of other                                 pretty papers in this collection just so I could do a little layering.

And finally a real close look at my title. It was first gessoed then painted and finally
I gave it a lick of some distress stickles.

Thank you so much for visiting me today. I am so grateful that some of  of you still drop by on a regular basis even though I don't have much to share with you lately.
I spend so much time at work there is not much left to be creative :-)
Hopefully that will im,prove soon!!

XOXO

Vintage Christmas and other news from Blue Fern Studios.

It's never too early for a great Holiday collection, right? :-)
Blue Fern Studios have come up with the perfect collection to get you in the holiday mood.
I will share the latest images of the Vintage Christmas as well as some more
awesome news from them.

If you plan to make cards, tags, or gifts for your family and friends, this beautiful collection will
definitely get you started.  -And don't forget those projects for your home,.... or how about
displaying a few layouts with photos of Christmas past?
The Blue Fern Vintage Christmas collection is just what you need.

Here are some more close ups of this elegant paper collection; featuring shades of
blue, green, red, pink, and neutral tones, all with a true vintage look.

Those 'calling cards' are just perfect for all those fun to make Christmascards
to be started on sooner than you think! :-)

We are also excited to introduce a brand new line of products called Imagine Ink.  These products were created to coordinate with the Vintage Christmas line.  No more searching for just the right color of mist, embossing powder, or glitter.  We have done all the work for you!

Our three new mists are Cotton Candy, Jingle Bells, and Winter Mint and they are sure to add just the right amount of luster and interest to your projects.

And they have added glitter!
These three colors, Phoenix, Caribbean, and Pyrite will bring just the right amount of sparkle!

Now,...wouldn't it be wonderful to have some coordinating Embossing Powder?
We have taken care of that, too.  What an awesome way to enhance our chipboard designs!
Once again, we have taken the guess-work out of it by selecting four colors that will coordinate with the Vintage Christmas collection - Lucky, Poinsettia, Petal, and Fern

Thanks for looking in to see some of the new products coming soon from Blue Fern Studios.
Have a lovely week end all of you!!
