Step by step and close ups for "Village Love" using Prima Almanac line.

If you are here for the OUAS blog hop please scroll down and you will find the post there!

This is the layout I shared on Sunday for the blog hop.
I  did not include any close ups as the post was already so long.
For those who would like to see some close ups and se my steps I will post some images here.

I mostly used the new Prima collection calle "Almanac" for this.
The "Almanac" flowers are so pretty ,too. The white new flowers are called "White Trixie".

I got a new die from Cheery Lynn last week end at the scrap fair. It is for making swirly vines. I can tell this is one scrappy buy that is not going to be collecting dust in a small box somewhere. I love it already!

The black blingy swirls are also made by Prima. I took a large swirl and cut it into several smaller pieces to use in different areas of my layout.

For my title I used two pieces of chipboard from Imaginarium Designs who is sponsoring us for the main prize this blog hop.

I placed the oval frame on top of one of the Prima diecuts. I wrote 'Village' in some green October Afternoon letter stickers. I used the chipboard word 'love' next to it to complete the title.

And now to a a few easy steps for putting this layout together:

I cut away the inner part of a pp to save for later. I also took off about 1,5 cm around the edge of the black pp. After glueing them together I distressed the edges a little.

I used my Crafters Companion 12x12 mask and painted with a grainy sand/snow paint.
The paint dries white so I used my sand coloured ink to tone down the brightness. I just dabbed it on top of my dry 'brickwork'. I only painted the bricks where I knew they would show.
-No use for bricks undeneath the photo or photomats.

I chose my chipboard pieces but instead of pulling out pencils and black paint etc I chose to use my inks for this job as well.
I pressed the ink pad to the chipboard shapes until I was satisfied they were black enough.
If you are careful you can do it without getting your fingers all black! LOL!

(This picture was taken in the evening with bad lightning.)

I used the piece of paper that I cut from the middle to make up the elements that the sketch called for.
I also used a piece of corrugated cardboard that I painted with gesso and inked with my sand ink pad to age it.

After I glued down the basic framework of the sketch I started playing around with the embellishments. This is my favourite part, -but I find it is also the most difficult.
In this photo I have almost arrived at the final result.

I hope you could take a tip or two from my process even if I did not make it very detailed.
Thanks for stopping by!

If you are here to participate in the blog hop just scroll down one post and all the details are there.
