The last kit from "My Scrapbook Nook" "For The Record 2"

A few days ago I received the September kit from the 'Nook'.
I opened it with mixed feelings as I know that this is the last kit we will see from this long running inspirational kit club.
During my shorter than planned term on the design team I have come to understand that to many people the 'Nook' is so much more than just another kit club... It is a 'home' on the internet.

It makes me sad to know that the closing down of 'My Scrapbook Nook' will make so many fellow scrappers homeless. I know that many have already found other places to visit, but the testimonials I hear say that nothing can fill the place of the warm heartfelt community we had at the'Nook'.

This is the first layout I made with my monthly kit:

And here you can see the contents of this beautiful well-filled kit:

Most of it consists of  the full collection of "Echo Park For The Record 2" "Documented".
And in there are also some added embellishments and stickers from MME.
Not a pink flower in sight, or anything else in pink for that matter.
But the kit still  works well for boys and girls pages alike I think. I think it is very pretty!!

Knowing me though, I guess you would be very surprised did I not add a pretty bloom or two....
I am using up some of my older Prima stuff I have been holding on to, -and the blue flowers come from a large tin  called  'Renaissance Silk Ferrari' with just a few pretty designer flowers .
I used quite a lot of gesso here, even if I covered most of it with embellishments in the end,...lol!

As you can see the colours in this kit are beautiful. I find the combo of blue and yellow to be very soothing... The two pretty ladies in the picture are my Beatrice with my younger sister who lives in Norway. The photos were taken while visiting her and her family this Summer.

The foilage was cut using a Spellbinder die and the border with and EK Success punch.
The large deep edge punch is by Martha Stewart.
The title and the many stickers and letter stickers I have used come off the EP sheets in the kit.
The corrugated cloud is from a previous 'Nook' kit and by Jillibean I believe.

I hope you enjoyed my blue/yellow page.
I've been working on a framed project as a gift for my god-daughter who is one,and I will be sharing my process in a step by step on the Nook blog soon.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week end and I'll be back tomorrow again with a summery
project for 'Pandore'

Hugs!

  17. Oh I could not help but smile at the comment you left me about Lily Bee. I know how you feel! I love almost any scap supply. But petty paper, patterns, and texture her me everytime.

Bente, this is stunning! From the photo to the colors, layering, the flowers (which are perfect). I love seeing your pages.

I will miss the Niok as well. It has brought me to do many wonderful friends and just a feeling if community.

I am so glad we can still be in touch through blogs, and Facebook.

    Have a great week!
