Color Combos Galore 181. The Look.

The combo this week has some beautiful colours. The designer challenge is to use product and take inspiration from the lovely photograph.

Here is my take on the combo.

An added challenge for me this week was that I am abroad and only brought a minimal stash to be able to do something for this challenge. Let me tell you I REALLY missed my stash!!

I only edited the first photo because I had to borrow a laptop. I hope you can imagine the colours being the same in all the shots!!

I love those ribbons by Websters pages!

I borrowed a butterfly punch from Martha Stewart. So, so lovely!

I chose my title from the photographs. I love the mild gaze in Beatrices eyes. She is such a swetheart and here her personality really shows! I used the same photo in colour and B/W.

Those Martha Stewart punches are so pretty.
I made the title with some cadboard , some ink and some stickers from OA and Thickers.

Today is my birthday and I am SOOO EXCITED because I am going to Oslo, capital of  Norway, to be present at the World championship in Nordic Skiing.
On Tuesday I shall  be back to normal i.e. working , scrapping and blogging.
I know it has been kind of quiet around here lately!!

WELCOME BACK then!

Color Combos Galore 180

Hello my friends!

I hope you are all feeling great this morning and ready for a challenge!

This weeks color combo at Colour Combos Galore is gorgeous. The colours are lovely red and blue candy colours.

Here is what I have come up with this week.

I was a late starter again and I am normally quite slow when it comes to my favourite pasttime.
I had to make an effort to speed-distress if there was ever such a word. I used mostly products from October Afternoon (Seaside collection).
The blue paper is from local manufacturer Panduro Hobby.

The design challenge this week is to use banners.
I really wanted one made out of calico to go with my theme. But it was out of the question because of the time-element. I went upstairs, found an old t-shirt of Beatrices an attacked it with my best scissors.

I made the 'rope' part first and coloured it with a stamp pad. I cut the flags and layered them, then sewed them to the 'rope'. I outlined the triangles to make them stand out a bit more.

I attatched my papers with sewing, too.
Then I printed out and attached strips with my journaling.

Basic Grey, Marjolaine for YSS.

I wanted to share a layout that I made with my DT-kit from Your Scrapbook Stash.
I used papers and stickers from BG Marjolaine collection.

The sticker sheet had a lot of really useful shapes. I used most of them on my toilet-roll album in the previous post.

These small chipboard letters are from Maya Road and you can find them in the YSS store with a 25 percent discount. I used my ink-pad to colour them black.

With my retro punch I made some  flowers and then I crumbled them to add some personality. I like it when they are a bit more dimentional. I added some stickles to the petals.
The sweet sentiment stamp is a gift from my beautiful and talented friend  Irma Peredne  as are the small glass half-beads.

I had so much fun planting little seeds together with Beatrice.
She was so excited to be watching the little seedlings grow.

Thaks for now.
Take care!

Toilet roll album for YSS. Valentines themed.

I want to share a project I did with my January DT-kit from Your Scrapbook Stash.
I mainly used Basic Gray Marjolaine. I used up a large part of the very useful sticker-sheet on this.

On the YSS blog you will shortly be able to see an easy tutorial on this mini album.

I made it using something we all normally throw away, namely empty toilet rolls.
I just flattened them and covered them with patterned paper and decorations.
I had so much fun doing this and will prepare some more to give as Valentines gifts to
members of my family.

These are the fronts and backs of my pockets.

I wanted to make the album Valentine-themed although the colours were not the traditional ones.
The photos are of Beatrice and one of her cousins playing last Spring in Grandmas garden.

Here are some close-ups of the different pockets.

These are some of the photos I included in my Valentines project.

Some of the inserts are double-sided  but some reverse sides I have left as is, to include more journaling.
Like the one below.

Thanks for dropping by.
I hope you enjoyed my little project!

I am on the Color Combos Galore Design Team !!!

During January I had such a great time guest designing with CCG as part of the YSS DT. I have come to love colour challenge sites, I find them so inspiring!
Some time ago I received an e-mail from sweet Janet P-B, the founder of the site, asking if I would like to become a Color Master.

Not in my wildest dreams could I have dreamt that!  I simply did not think I was god enough or talented enough!
I feel so happy they asked me and I am so proud to work on the team with so many of my favourite scrappers. I hope I shall be able to provide much inspiration to the members.

I know I am completely smitten with this hobby and that when I am not scrapbooking I am at least thinking about it!

This is my layout for the combo this week . At this time of year I have such big problems photographing my layouts. It is so dark. I use a lot of editing and that tweaked the colours here a little, especially the green.(the doily was probably a little dark to begin with).

I took the layout in to the office to photograph it in daylight. Trouble was that before I left I forgot to add the little stamped bird I made. So now I have added it and taken a new picture!
There's a thin layer of diamond glaze on top of the bird.
The stamp is from Les Papiers de Pandore.

I cut a strip of tulle made into a narrow rufle. That's what you can see directly under the photo.

I will add some more CLOSE-UPS after the inspiration board.

There is an added option to draw inspiration from the photo on the board. I was inspired by the lace doily on the plate and the little roses reminded me of my rather extensive stash of beloved buttons!

The Inspiration board this week is showcasing the most beautiful feminine colours. So beautiful, especially of course for girly pages, but can easily be adapted for boys. Nowadays boys are most certainly allowed to wear pink!

Here are some close-ups.

The pictures are of DD playing with her new camera last Summer. She had so much fun taking photos of everyone and everything...I wonder who she got that from...? lol....

The tulle flower was in my grab-box I ordered from Lily Bee.

Rather a long post today.
Hope you had the stamina to read it through to the end...lol!

Bye for now!

I am a favourite at Norwegian Scrappehuset.

A while ago I posted my first layout to the Norwegian challenge site Scrappehuset. They are such a talented bunch of girls and provide tons of inspiration.

Today when I did my regular visit to the site I saw that I had been chosen as one of ten favourites.

The final winner was Aina with a glorious layout in monochromatic white. CONGRATULATIONS! Well deserved!

Thanks for dropping by!
