"Just like Royalty" - "One Moment in Time" - for Get Creative

Hi, happy Sunday to you all- I've been catching up on some sleep after watching  Eurovision Song Contest last night and then getting to bed very late.  The late night was very worth while as the Swedish favourite Loreen won a landslide victory. Congrats Loreen!!

I wanted to share the last lo I made with my FB win from C'est Magnifique. This time the pretty girl in my photos is Victoria, and she's 17 and our middle daughter. The pictures are but a few of all that I took on our visit to Warwick Castel in February.

And this is the sketch I used from Get Creative. It is for their May 15th challenge.

I will more or less post and run today.
There are a lot of photos here though  that will 'speak more than a thousand words'...lol!

Did you notice my sewing on the circular piece?
I think that looks pretty neat!! I will absolutely be doing that again!!

Can you see that very cute little Prima bird sitting there...?
Thank you so much to the mega talented Anabelle for sending me such a generous and sweet RAK!

This pretty butterfly is made by Imaginarium Designs. I used the Ingvild Bolme ink pad in 'Old Jeans'            again to colour it. I have used up one whole ink pad on the last three los I have shared.
They are so good for inking around edges and other details.
Now I will have to get me another one...

The different printed chipboard pieces are from Prima Marketing the "Song bird" collection.

These last two shots are added in an effort to show how I like to add my little details strewn over the page. My pages are never very flat and I like them to have a lot of texture.
Here you can see how I often like to do it and maybe you can pick up a tip or two.  We all have our different ways of doing things and I know  pick up great tips every time I go on my 'hops'...LOL!

That's the end for today, and for those who made it through all those pictures; well done!
Thanks so much for dropping by.
Leave me a message and I would love to come and visit you too!!

Hugs!!

"You Bring Me Joy", Another layout using "One Moment in Time" from "The ScrapCake

Just a quick one today as I have so much to do here at home....

A little while ago I won "The ScrapCake" "One Moment in Time" from Leslie at C'est Magnifique Kits.

A couple of posts down you can see the first layout I made, and now I have made one more.
I haven't allowed myself much scrappy time the last week so I have been stealing some moments here and there; and this is what I came up with:

The "One Moment in Time" collection is very toned down as far as pattern and colour go and maybe an unusual choice for me, but the fairly neutral colours allow you to add some favourite colours and they are quite fun to work with. The colours are pink, teal and browns all mixed up. Pretty!

I added some beautiful Prima blooms and other flowers from my stash. There are quite a few fussy cut flourishes here cut from the patterned paper.

Here are some close ups too, as usual ;

These letter stickers are some older vinyl Thickers from American Crafts. The glue is sort of melting on them so I have used ordinary quick glue to stick them down.

I have distressed most of my elements and inked areound them with one of Ingvild Bolme's fantastic ink pads. She designed some ergometric tools etc for Prima Marketing and the ink pads are part of that collection. They are just so easy to use. They have a grip that makes them so easy to hold. I have used the colour called "worn jeans"

In the next photo you will see I used a "Crafter's Workshop" template 'chickenwire'.
I love these masks both for misting and painting. This time however I did not feel like whipping out all  the mists and paints so I just inked over the stencil with an ordinary small ink pad.
I like how it came out, -and no cleaning!

Even here I used the ink pad to ink over a quarter of a doily that I temporarily placed in the corner.
A neat effect!

I am off to do some more spring cleaning of the second floor.
We are getting some new beds and I have so much to clear out..(Too much scrapping , -not enough housekeeping...lol)

Before I go I'll just show you a pic of Ingvild's ink pad:

As always if you leave a message and let me know you were here  I will come and visit you soon!

Thanks for taking the time to visit me today.

Playing with my win from C'est Magnifique.....

A little while ago I won the lucky draw that C'est Magnifique Kits had on Facebook.
I won one of the newest collections from "The ScrapCake" called "One Moment in Time"
It is a little different from many of the papers I usually work with, but the fact that they are very soft makes them easy to use.

This is the first layout I made.
In the photos are Beratrice and my goddaughter Nicole (8 months ).

I did a lot of fussy cutting and layering here.

Unfortunately it just started to rain outside so I did not get a very good shot of the layout.
I added a lot of embellies here in shades of blue as Nicole is dressed in blue .
The largest flower is a Prima bloom with a Petaloo bloom layered on top and a mother of pearl button sewn on top of that. I found the metal key at the local scrap fair a few weeks ago and the chipboard swirls are made by Imaginarium Designs. They are so generously sponsoring us in the OUAS DT!

I had fun just picking this and that from my stash to use here.

To add a little more dimension to the paper strips, I partially cut along the printed scallops and lifted them. That way it looks as if the scallops are on separate sheets.

The tags with the words "Hope" and "Love" are also part of the collection pack from "The ScrapCake"
I inked around the edges, and outlined with a black pen before pop-dotting them to my page.

The girls look so sweet in the photo. I think you can see there's a connection already!
I also think Beatrice appreciates having a new little girl in the family!

I did some misting with my new Crafter's Companion chicken wire mask, but it doesn't really
show a whole lot!!  It's just very subtle...

Thanks so much to Leslie at C'est Magnifique for picking me as her winner and for sending me this lovely gift!!

Thanks also to all of you who come over to have a look here.
Please leave me a small message so I can come and visit you too!

May 15th OUAS; Theme "Mum" usin Prima "Nature Garden"

Welcome to the mid monthly reveal for the May sketch at OUAS!

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Mum" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch.

Ideas for journalling: you as a mother, your role as a working/stay-at-home mum, sacrifices/benefits of being a mum, one day in your life as a mum, how your life has changed since being a mum, a tribute to your own mum, grandmother, guardian or someone you consider as close as your mum, your relationship with your mum or your daughter, one trait you have take from your mum, your desire to be a mum, your feelings on motherhood, what does it mean to be a mum?, what kind of mum do you want to be? , Mother's Day celebrations/traditions, your favourite Mother's Day gift given/receive etc

For my layout I used one of the new collections from Prima called "Nature Garden".
The colours and patterns are very subdued and easy to work with.

And this is the beautiful sketch that Nadia prepared for us:

I made my example with lots of layers and sooo much distressing.
I painted, inked and misted the different layers and also made good use of my sewing machine to adhere different elements.

My journalling is about the awesome feeling it was to become a mother of three.
I have talked to a couple of my friends and they felt the same after number three was born,...just elation!
At the same time as being so excited about the new family member I also experienced a strange yearning for one more baby,...to be able to experience this undescribable feeling one more time. I was always happy about waiting before having my firstborn. We had so many things in our life with Uni and work and travel that we would not have been able to do with a baby.
But also with every baby you are a little older and at some point you have to realize that you are not going to have any more. Having had two miscarriages before our eldest was born we felt so blessed with one child . Now we have three  intelligent and beautiful children and could not be happier!!

I have hidden most of my journaling in the rolled up scroll.
For the doilies I used my Cheery Lynn die and the branc is one from Prima Marketing.
I used a chipboard ornament from Imaginarium Designs to form part of my title.

I made a small shabby banner from triangles.
I inked the edges and outlined them, I drew a small messy heart on each of them, and then with my finger I smeared paint on top. When the paint dried I added some liquid pearl from Viva.

I really like this photo of Beatrice. She was happy outside jumping on the trampoline whwn I asked her to pose for a few photos. Her hair is all messy like that!!

Why don't take a peek at what the rest of the team cam up with?

"Spring is in the Air" Les papiers de Pandore "Cherry Chérie".

Another page is up on the "Les Papiers de Pandore" blog today!
This is my latest layout I did with Julie Blanc's lovely Spring collection called Cherry Chérie.
I just love the cloud-paper in this collection!! It makes me happy!
I wanted to make a fairly C&S page to let these recent photos of Beatrice shine as well as
the pretty papers of the Cherry Chérie collection.

The photos were taken a couple of weeks ago. It felt like the very first day of Spring.
My youngest daughter Beatrice prepared some tea and cinnamon-buns (from the freezer) and invited me to come sit with her outside in the garden.

Everything is from the collection except I used white Bazzil cadstock for my base.

I used sewing to attatch everything on my page. I fussy cut the cute clouds and the branch with hanging hearts and butterfly. These elements are part of the so usable elements sheet that normally come with the collections. To give them some extra umpfh I adhered them with pop dots.
The title word Spring is also cut from that sheet.

Some more close ups:

I think Beatrice looks so big here. She is 11 and a half and no little girl any more.

I am happy you dropped by to see me today so I could share my latest page with you.
I hope you liked it. Hope to see you soon again!

A quick card for The Shabby Tea Room

Hi all,and a happy relaxing weekend to you! Don't you just love Fridays?...

I looked around the net to find a card sketch or something else that would be quick to do.
I found this lovely inspiration photo at The Shabby Tea Room
The challenge was to create a card or project inspired by the COLORS in the photo and INCLUDE A ROSE!

This is my card. It was so quick to do. I sewed a white panel to the center of my striped base.
I added a Prima journaling spot and a small doily.
I layered the flowers and leaves on top of that and added some buttons.
The small banner was cut from a bottom strip fom a patterned paper and attatched with some pink twine.
Some letter stickers from My Little Shoebox spell out the word Grattis/Congratulations
to finish it all off.

You've still got two more days to finish this challenge. You can never have to many cute cards!

Thanks for dropping by...!

My layout for the Movie Madness crop at "My Scrapbook Nook" using "Bo Bunny" "Country Garden".

So,..How many of you who are in an especially creative mood today due to this weekend being the celebration of all things scrapbook??

National Scrapbooking Day is celebrated in the US on the first Saturday in May but because we love this craft so much we try to make the enjoyment last a little longer!

I told you yesterday about the über-FUN crop we have going on at My Scrapbook Nook.
The good news is it will not be over until midnight tomorrow, Monday (US time).

I think by now the design team has posted  16 different challenges and each one earns you points in the grand competition. And there are still more challenges to come!!!
The total winner will get a three months subscription to the 'My Scrapbook Nook' kit.

 This is my layout:

Together with Carol I hosted this challenge :

May Movie Madness Challenge #12: Paying Homage

If you follow the link you will see the gorgeous layouts of Carol and of Choup72 who we both lifted.

And you can read about all the different challenges.

I stayed pretty true to the original layout. I switched Choup72's embellishments for some more dimensional ones,- the kind I would normally use. I think the best way to do a lift is to try and make it your own and that's what I did here.

I just cut loose a part of the butterfly and lifted it to overlap my photo.
It is a very simple trick if you want to add some depth.
These letter stickers are some of my most favourite ones. They are textile ones by Prima.

The beautiful chipboard frame is from Imaginarium Designs.
Article number IDT0013

I really hope to see some of you over at the "Nook" taking part and sharing our fun challenges!
Thanks for saying hello!
