Now it is time for me to share the project I did this week for Color Combos Galore. It is a layout about Beatrice and her grandmother on her fathers side. She enjoys her little visits and we try to go as often as we can. Grandmother doesn't live far away.
The color board revealed some gorgeous colours when I first saw it.
I had big plans for all I was going to do..... Then life got in the way, and I was standing there at my scrap desk late in the evening after it was due.
Still I managed to get a layout done. It came together rather fast (for me at least) because besides the lovely colours we were given, the prompt was to layer everything on top of eachother. That is pretty much what I do so that was lucky! I do love these challenges at CCG because they let me work with combinations that I would not have picked myself. Still most of the time I love them....
I don't know what it is with banners, but lately I feel I always want to add them. And looking around in cyberspace it is quite obvious that I am not alone...! lol. To incorporate the grey into my page I let two little pidgeons be the bearers of the title.
To create the layers I used different pps and cardstock.
I used a die cut paper from Lily Bee and some raw chipboard frames. I layered a leaf die cut (K&Co) and some Prima flowers. Underneath my base paper I stuck some larger paper flowers.
I think that at the most there are about eight layers.
I cut out doilies from the Prima packing and added some bling stones to them. The letter stickers for the banner-title are from Echo Park,"For the Record".
I added some lace and used a teal pen around the edges to make all the light layers stand out a bit more.
Some more close ups:
Here you can see the layers a bit better.
Thanks for now!
