Finally the storm is over!!

Yesterday was supposed to be a cosy day in our local town, with all the shops opening on the Sunday afternoon to start the Christmas season/shopping. The kids were looking forward to seeing Father Christmas arriving  in his sled pulled by a horse.
It is a big shame that a huge storm approached and hardly anybody could go outside. I feel sorry for the local shopowners who had a lot invested in this.
A lot of roads were cut off and the buses and trains were immobilized. We also had powercuts.
In the aftermaths I am having internet problems, I'll have to check with the experts tomorrow, but for now I have borrowed a laptop.

We were quite lucky in our household that nothing much happened to our house etc.

Our trampoline has seen better days though,...

And if you look in the background of this photo you can see a huge fallen tree.
It is the same one in the photo below.

We have had two other large storms in the last ten years  and have had one tree like this one fall down in our garden. We have been very sad  to loose the trees, but extatic that they did not fall on our house....

And as I ran out the door to work this morning I discovered these little guys in my garden!...
I callede the owner and by the time I got home he had taken care of it and they were bak in their field.

I hope I shall be able to post a lo tomorrow.
It all depends on my computer cooperating!

Take care and goodbye for now!

Imaginarium Designs and New "Authentique" "Blissfull"

Today I have a layout to share that uses a lot of the beautiful chipboard by "Imaginarium Designs".

I know I've told you before how awesome ID chippies are and how easy to work with. You can paint, glaze stamp, mist etc to customize your pieces in so many ways.
This is the page I made:

Today I have painted my chipboard embellishments white to match my layout. I have inked the top parts of my alphas so the letters will stand out more against the background.

These are the chipboard pieces I used: ( if you click on the link it will take you to the right article)

OBS!! I was not able to access the Seriously Scrapbooking site so will add links later!

Corner swirl

I made this made using a sketch from "Sasya sketches" a Russian sketch/challenge blog that I happened upon. The sketch is really beautiful!

I layered and sewed my papers according to the sketch. I decided to use two photos in the space of the photo mat as I had a matching pair of Beatrice as a cat.

The papers I used for this lo is one of the latest collections from "Authentique" and it's called "Blissful".
The predominantly yellow and taupe colour scheme is really beautiful and feminine.

Again I used a doily die from Cheery Lynn to make this.

The flowers are "Prima Marketing" and some mulberry flowers from my stash.

The saying "Exuberance is beauty" is also from the collection kit by "Authentique",
as are the tiny yellow letter stickers.

The photos of Beatrice as a cat was of course taken at the same time as the ones in my previous post.
Thanks for taking a look at my layouts. I so enjoy all your little comments.

Hugs, B

Sweet Lady has been with us for a year.

I do not have any layouts to show today, but Bea wanted me to write about our sweet cat that has now been with us for a year.

She could not be any cuter and we are so happy to have her. I will admit I was not an 'animal person' but having a cat sure agrees with me....

And some shots of our other sassay girl cat. I think she had been dressed up for a school play this day.

Hope you are enjoying your week so far. Mine is terribly busy!!
Take care!

"Crate Paper" " Random" for Once Upon A...Sketch Nov 15 challege

Good afternoon to those who do me the pleasure of dropping by here on a Saturday.

I have been working today as we have a sale at our warehouse this weekend and the next.
We sell out at wholesale prices items that are almost sold out or may have a small damage that makes it impossible to sell them to our discerning customers.
But now I am back and I have a little share for you.

I am a little late posting my layout for Once Upon A...Sketch November 15th challenge,....But voilĂ ,..here it is!

I have turned the sketch sideways and omitted half a circle to the side, but apart from that I have been pretty faithful to Nadia's beautiful sketch that you can see here together with the criteria:

                             November 15th Challenge

Journalling criteria: This time the journalling criteria focuses on YOU as a woman
OR ANY female in your life.
What is the best thing about being a woman?
Motherhood? Shopping? Make Up? Girls nights? Gossip?
Your journalling can be as long as you wish and in any language,
but you must journal at least 2 sentences on the best part of being a woman.

You must combine the journalling criteria with this sketch.

I used one of the new collections from "Crate Paper" for this.
                                      It is called "Random"
and looks really pretty with all its quirky elemets.

I have some closeups of the embellishments etc for you.

The beautiful ribbon with pearls and sequins I found at A Million Memories, and they have
been selling out a lot of their stock lately with a discount of 50%.I received a large box a
couple of weeks ago! The ribbon has a coral shade that is also found in the Crate papers.

I used one of the dotted papers to die cut some pretty doilies.
I think I told you about my new "Cheery Lynn" dies that I bought online.'
I am very happy with them.

You will see some sweet little crocheted doilies peeking out from behing the flowers.
These shy creatures are a gift from the generous Leeann Pearce, who also happens to be
one of our sponsors this month together with the Canadian kit club "Scrap That!"
As if that wasn't enough this inimitable scrap godess is also our guest designer this month.
We are so happy to have her!!

The journalling prompt this time is to focus on aspects of being a woman.
I was going to do a lo about myself, but did not have any suitable photos.
I used a photo of my eldest DD Alexandra, and scrapped a little about her
at this time in her life.

Feel free to take a look at the gorgeous projects from the DT
and guest artists over at OUAS
There are so many gorgeous takes on the sketch.
And you might want to have a little peek at the awesome prizes we have for you!

                       We also have some new members of our design team;
the super talented Maiko KosugiGoergia Heald and Larissa Albernaz. Welcome girls.

I think that covers it all,...If not I'll be back!!

"Snow magic" using Les Papiers de Pandore "En Attendent"

Just a quick pre-scheduled post to share a new layout with "Les Papiers de Pandore"  as I am  out of town for work.

It is my second one using Julies "En Attendent". The papers are more subdued than I am used to , but really a pleasure to work with.
-And so pretty,too!

This is what I came up with:

I cut out the large wings and glittered them with glitterglue.that makes them look a little more wintry.I layered them on top of two of my new doilies with pop dots to make them stand out a little. Then I tied a red gingham ribbon for softness.

I also added some liquid pearl, but I think it is maybe too old because when I looked at my dried 'bead's they were not really pearls any more. The liquid was too runny I guess.

I wrote my title on one of the cut out journalling spots in the collection. The glitter letters are Pink Paislee and the red letter stickers are October Afternoon.

I cut out snowflakes and also punched some. I stuck them on pop dots for dimension and a shadow effect.
I added some journaling on the back as I did not leave much space for it on the front.

That's all for now. I'll see you when I get back!!

A "Tilda" "Winterbird" layout with lots of doilies and flowers.

Some time back I bought a stack of pretty floral Tilda papers. The collection is called "Winterbird".
I am always a sucker for rose-patterned papers and these have roses in abundance.
I had not used the papers yet, but last week when Beatrice and I went to Stockholm we visited the large Panduro hobby store with Eila and now I felt inspired to put the papers to use.
This time I used some of the papers that did not have a floral pattern as I was going to add a lot of flowers and use a floral die cut.

This is the page I made with the Tilda collection.

I distressed the edges of my base and border cut the dotted paper using a Martha Stewart punch.
I also painted with a little gesso around the outlines .

I bought these gorgeous doily dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and I really feel like using them on all my projects at the moment. They are just so pretty! The title stickers are from Prima Marketing. I just made hem black instead of brown, and added some red glitter glue.

Even the black swirl is a Prima Marketing one.It came off a big sheet with three or four, and it was pretty neat because you could cut off just bits as the swirls were so large.

The doilies are from a packet of mulberry flowers and doilies from Prima marketing.

The photo was taken one afternoon at the beach nearby. Journalling says that we did not swim even if we had planned to, because it felt a little windy and too cold.
So we went to the canal and had some ice cream there instead.

I would also like to share that the winter layout in my previous post was quite well received at Two Peas and reached the Top 3.
I have been very fortunate lately on Two Peas!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit me and check on my creative endeavors.
It is so much appreciated. Take care until next time!

Some new photos and a fun questionnaire for Beatrice @11 years of age.

I am so being lousy at blogging lately.
I will say it again,.. I do not know where time goes,...anybody else know...?

Last week was the 11th birthday of Beatrice, my youngest daughter.
She had been looking forward to it for weeks.
She had a long wishlist but most of the things we could tick of were really sensible stuff.

This is a shot of her wearing a cat hat that she got from Victoria her sister. Cute hat!
Cute 11year-old!

She wanted to go on a trip,so the two of us went to Stockholm.
She wanted a laptop, but we told her that would be too expensive. Then we decided that now that my PC is on the mend again and all the others have laptops already she can have the *family laptop* as her own.
One happy camper there,..-and that was even before she started opening her 'real' presents.

She was so excited to receive two parcels in the mail from big sis Alexandra over at Warwick, and Victoria really spoiled her with filling up almost almost half the dinner table with all her gifts.
We had the family over for dinner and cake. All in all I think/know she had a good day!!

Of course her best gift ever was little Lady, the kitten she got on her birthday last year.

This is a shot of her wearing a cat hat that she got from Victoria her sister. Cute hat!
Cute 11year-old!

Then one of my sweet girls with their morning faces.

This was her look when she opened the first of Alexandras presents.

We have a soft spot for Doctor Who in our family, and this little girl is no exception!

OK so these were just a few photos from the morning.

I found this questionnaire on Lisa McGarveys blog and thought it would be fun to see
Beatrice's responses.

If she were a month, she'd be August, because it's warm and summery.

If she were a day of the week, she'd be Wednesday because she has so many great activities then.

If she were a time of day, she'd be morning because she loves to get up early.

If she were a planet, she'd be Mars because she loves marzipan ( :-D....!)

If she were a sea animal, she'd be a gold fish because they are so sweet.

If she were a direction, she'd be South because we live in the south of Sweden.

If she were a piece of furniture, she'd be a sofa because she likes to be lazy.

If she were a gemstone, she'd be a diamond because they are so special.

If she were a tree, she'd be our small apple tree with the best apples.

If she were a tool, she'd be a SONIC SCREWDRIVER (from Doctor Who...tihi..)

If she were a kind of weather, she'd be sunny so it's nice to go outside.

If she were a musical instrument, she'd be violin.

If she were a color, she'd be purple, because she just loves it!!

If she were an emotion, she'd be happy.

If she were a fruit, she'd be an orange.

If she were a sound, she'd be an old fashioned train whistle.

If she were a car, she'd be an old Volvo PV

If she were a food, she'd be stuffed filet of chicken like Alexandra makes it.

If she were a place, she'd be London. Just so so COOL!

If she were a body part, she'd be the heart!

If she were a song, she'd be 'Tänd ett ljus för livet'
(Normally she does a solo in the church, special song for St Lucia celebration  here)

I realize this may be a post most interesting for friends and family,
but  you could use the questionnaire to find out silly stuff about your child, too.

I will be back later today to share a project ,too, I just needed some more light to photograph it.
In the afternoon we have another family birthdayparty to go to.

Bye for now!!

Les Papiers de Pandore's winter collection and my layout.

I am starting to get my mojo back and last night I actually scrapped a couple of layouts. That felt great and today I wish I had time to do some more, but I have other more pressing matters to attend to.
It happens to be Beatrices birthday today and we are preparing to receive the relatives for dinner and coffee.

That's why I will do a little "post and run today"

A while back Julie Blanc of Les Papiers de Pandore revealed her new winter collection called "En attendent"
Thant means "Waiting" and we all know what we are waiting for....

It is a bit early for snowy pictures this season but I found some of Beatrice from earlier.
The collection has some subdued colours matched with some lovely pink, red, aqua and turquoise.

This is my first layout made with the new papers.
I hope you like it!

These are the beautiful patterned papers.

And these are the stamps to go with them.

I cut the banner from the sheet containing bits and bobs and also the journaling spot.
I cut the corners off the papers and layered them. Some machine sewing holds them together.
I used my new Martha Stewart punches to make the snow flake strip.

Beatrice was so proud.
She had made a feeder for the little birds at school and could not wait to hang it up in a tree in the garden.

I admit I went a bit wild with my new Score Pal. Making these rosette flowers is a blast and is done in a minute with that great tool.

That is all for now my friends.
Thanks for stopping by!!
