My Good Girl

Hello all, are you ready for some champagne and a clean slate,...?
Not long now until we sing Auld Land Syne and toast our near and dear ones.

We are three  families who have been enjoying eachothers company on New Years Eve for many years now. Most of our children are old enough to want to celebrate with their own group of friends and only the youngest ones remain with us the entire evening.
We alternate preparing a beautiful meal with everything and then we talk and laugh until midnight when we all go outside to look at the special fireworks that are normally fantastic. And we also spend some time talking to our neighbours as they are also out and about.

But before that I have one last layout to share. It is another one that I made some weeks back, actually for a combo at CCG that was not revealed.
The shape is round even though the iron bench underneath almost looks like part of the lo.

I used some bits and bob I had on my scrap table at the time. The flowered paper is from Prima and the gingham is October Afternoon.

The red branch with leaves on is part of a larger one by Prima.
This piece was left over from an earlier layout.
The gingham ribbon was in my stash and also the textile chipboard letters from Prima Marketing.

To make the the frilly edge of  the outline I used my favourite Martha Stewart lace border punch to punch several strips that I then pleated at random. Of course the pleats will look a lot neater if you use a ruler to measure exactly, but I don't do that!
I used a pearlmaker to get the tiny pears along the green edge. The tiny letter stickers here are by Glitz

The title refers to the fact that Beatrice is always such a good girl. we are curious to see what happens in a couple of years. Will she still have her sweet disposition?
Ok friends, Thanks to all who made it this far and I will wish you

a HAPPY NEW YEAR
and much love

in case I don't post again this side of New Years Eve.

A sweet Summer layout.

Even though I enjoy the cosy warmth of Christmas with its many lights and candles, it is no big secret that I am a Spring/Summer girl at heart!
I guess that after eating a whole lot of heavy foods, at least we do that in this part of the world, you may be ready for a small dose of sun and Summer. I know some of you are spoilt with sunny weather right now, but we are definitely not!! I heard from my family in Norway that they have been having storm/hurricanes and are flooded in large areas. Boats have flown up onto the beaches etc.

Recently I found this layout that I made quite a while ago but forgot to share here on the blog.

I love the sweet photos. I snapped Beatrice wearing a happy face because she received a new pink camera all her own.I forgot to bring my camera with me to London, and being without one is not an option. Luckily for my youngest I bought a pink one that turned out to be perfect for her!.

I used a mix of papers and embellies on this. The houndstooth paper is MME I think and the rose patterned light blue one is by Norwegian Tilda. The buttons are from my stash.

I rolled up pieces of patterned paper to make that sweet kind of flower that look so gorgeous on other people's layouts,...lol!

Banner in  a combo of October Afternoon and Tilda. I used a doily and apart from distressed paper you can see I used the lace borderpunch here.

Those lovely blue chipboard letters that I have been hoarding were made by Pink Paislee. I seem to love everything they do!!

I am off to watch a couple of episodes of NCIS with my DD.Don't you just LOVE it when you have days off?!! No need to get up early tomorrow morning and we have all been in our pj's for hours!
Take care 'till next time!

Hello all my bloggy friends.

The cold is creeping up on us here in the northern hemisphere and the days have become much shorter in only a few weeks. It is hard getting used to the small amount of daylight we get and that it is dark at four in the afternoon. It is often dark when I leave the house to go to work and dark when I get back home again.
It is nice just to stand at my scraptable knowing I can not do any outside jobs kin the garden etc. But I can be scrapping!

Today I have teamed up with the wonderful Stop and Scrap web shop in the US.

They are generously offering a discount for everybody of $5 off a $25 order.

Beautiful new sketch up at OUAS!!

We have already reached the middle of December and Christmas is quickly approaching.
This year I am not in charge of the preparations so I can allow myself to feel more
relaxed about it.
I still have quite a few gifts to find but hopefully today will be my last day of work
before the holidays ,..so I will get there...

On December 15 the lovely Nadia presented us with a new sketch, and it is a beauty.
I hope you will all visit the OUAS blog to read all the fine print, but apart from following the sketch
you are encouraged to write about what you do on December 25, even if you do not celebrate Christmas.

This is the sketch:

And this is my take on it:

I used the beautiful collection "En Attendent" from "Les Papiers de Pandore".
Don't you just love the soft icy wintery colours?
I know some of you'll have difficulties finding these papers where you live,
and that means there's more reason to enter the OUAS challenge this time as you can win,
...not one ,but TWO gorgeous collections from Julie Blanc.

I even used some gorgeous chipboard pieces from Imaginarium Designs.
Here is the links to the flourish I used :
http://www.seriouslyscrapbooking.net.au/products/embellishments/chipboard/florish-1-3-per-board-

I glittered the pieces and I divided  the flourish in two pieces and used one half on each side of my photo.I could not find the link to my other chipboard piece but it is also from imaginarium,.

Good Luck to all who decide to take part!!
Bye for now!

Joy,.Les Papiers de Pandore and OUAS

I am a bit behind with my blogging lately!
Those of you who are frequent visitors here will know that it is due to my PC acting up on a regular basis.

Last period I was not required to make a lo for Once Upon A Sketch,
but I loved the sketch so much I had to give it a go anyway.

There is a new sketch up as of today and I will get back to that one in my next post, but decided that first things come  first and I will start with  my lo for Dec 1st. I already shared the sketc in a previous post.

Yesterday I could only share a sneak and this is what the whole page looks like:

Don't you just love the beautiful new collection from "Les Papiers de Pandore"?
It is called "En Attendent" ( Waiting ).
For those of you who live far away from France and don't know how to get hold of it I have some news.
Julie is sponsoring the current challenge over at OUAS.
Go over there and check out what you have to do to be eligible to win no less than TWO whole  collections from "Les Papiers dePandore"!!

We were supposed to journal about what we love and look forward to in December.
I chose to write about spending time with family and seeing the happiness shared by my children
 enjoing time together.
This holiday will be precious as Alexandra is coming home for the first time since going away
to University in the UK.

The cute flowers I made using a die from Marianne Design, a Dutch manufacturer. And the doilies were made with a die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I love the little cut-outs and journalling spots from "En Attendent".
Together with the gauze and felt snowflakes they add a lot of dimension to my lo.
I chose to only add glue to the center and thus have the possibility to keep sticking things underneath
(and on top...) as my lo evolved.

I hope you enjoyed a little Christmas Joy here and that you also will experience a lot of that in your lives!
Thanks for dropping by!

From Rapunzel to ordinary princess,...and a sneak...

Last week Beatrice finally had her wish and we booked a date with the hairdresser.
I had promised that after we had a 'proper' photographer round to take pictures of her she could
cut off her very loooong hair.

The previous Sunday we had the sweet Gisela round for a photoshoot and from the sneaks she posted on Facebook the photos look great! I can't wait to see them,

She has had no second thoughts about cutting off such a large chunk of her hair. I think she enjoys being able to comb her own hair in the mornings. I know she must feel more independent and self sufficient now!

And now a little sneak peak of my latest lo.
It is not that I cannot show it yet,of course I can.
It is just that being without a PC it is difficult to print out the journalling and therefore I have no photo of the finished lo.
I made it because I was so tempted by the December 1st  sketch at OUAS.
I wll share the whole layourt soon if you are curious.
I used Les Papiers de Pandore "En Attendent"

Thank you so much for your welcome visits.
As always I really appreciate you dropping in on my little blog!
BRB!
Hugs!

A Prima "Pixie Glen" layout for Sketchabilities and TCR.

It has been a while now since I posted, I think actually a whole week has passed!!
I hope you are all well on the way with all the Christmas preparations.
I now I am really, really looking forward to some quiet (hopefully....) family time soon!

I have not had much time or inclination to scrap lately, but I wanted to share this page that I made for Sketchabilities sketch #60.
I also combined it with the palette #87 from TCR this time.

Here you can see the colours of the palette.

And this is the sketch I used.

I chose  pretty papers from Prima Marketing called "Pixie Glen" and "Alla Prima"
I also used the chipboards from the "Alla Prima" coolection.

I don't have a lot more to say as I am still waiting for my PC to be returned from the repair shop and working on this borrowed laptop takes too much energy....

I will talk to you son again. Actually, I will post some photos of Beatrices new do tomorrow!!

"Snow much fun" "Les Papiers de Pandore" "En Attendent"

Tonight I have another page to share that I made using the new "Les Papiers de Pandore".
I like the slightly untraditional Christmas/Winter colours alot!

I used the different elements from the cut out sheet as decorations and added some glitter to enhance the wintery feel. The long strips are the pieces at the bottom that you would normally throw away, but here you cut them off to save them as they are the perfect colour accent.

I cut some circles and layered them. Around the outline I fastened a length of pretty white lace.
Again I used my new "Shape Boss" to help with the pleating to make the rosettes.

I layered the photo mat on top of the gauze to mimic snow. On both sides I stuck a journallingspot underneath the mat.

The gorgeous chipboard letters I love to use are from Imaginarium Designs. They are an Australian manufacturer with some awesome products. I used white acrylic paint to give a touch of Winter to the letters. Here and there , like on the small snowflakes I added some pearl dots.

You can find the alphas HERE

Here are some more close ups for you.......

The photos were taken last February when the whole family went to Norway, where I am originally from,
It was Beatrice's first time skiing. At first she was very excited, but then despaired when she disciovered it was hard. But when time came to call it a day she did not want to go home...The youngest learn very fast!

It's almost Friday,folks......I hope you'll have a lovely weekend.
Thanks for dropping by!
