Guest designing for *Tidbitz in Time* June kit

You know how it can be,... Sometimes you don't have much to share or to write about. Then some days you have a lot. That is how it has been the last couple of days for me. Different guest stints, a feature, and tomorrow it is time again for the new sketch at Once Upon A...Sketch where I will have a new page again. That's the way I like it to be....
Today I have several pages to share with you.
I got the beautiful June kit from Tidbitz in Time to play with and I sure had some fun!!

It contains the prettiest patterned papers from "Pink Paislee" "Butterfly Garden" and "7Gypsies" "Conservatory " as well as  a beautiful array of flowers and bling from "Zva Creative". The gorgeous  ribbon that comes with the kit add a lovely finishing touch!

This is the first of my layouts. Beatrice had been playing a cat in a school play and had not washed off her whiskers yet.
They looked so cute I had to get my camera out ( well it doesn't take much for that to happen actually...). The photos I got are my new favourites and you will be seeing more pages with them I am sure!

The kit is jam packed with all the goodies you can imagine.
Just look at this picture....!
You can use the pink or blue accents like I did to adapt the kit to a boy or a girl.

The second layout is about Beatrice with her youngest cousin that she has only met twice. I used the turquoise trim as a kind of pleated border together with a punched strip.
Most of you will know by now that I love my corrugated cardboard, and usually it will be whitewashed. If you are not too fussed about acid free etc you can use the packaging that you get many times when you buy your scrap goodies on the iternet. I think that together with the pleated ribbon it adds a lot of character and texture.

I used the white ribbon to make decorations for my flower clusters. I just arranged the ribbon in loops to add some 'lift' to my page. The text paper here is by "7Gypsies" and the rest of the pp's are by "Pink Paislee"

One more to go for this time.
I cut a circle out of the gorgeous butterfly paper and backed it with grey cardstock. I thought it looked a bit dark so I dry brushed the grey with white, and that created more the look that I was aiming for.
Punched strips help me build up my design. The flowers were made with my trusted friend, the large retro flower punch.

Our kitten, Lady, is so so cute. I altered the picture in Picasa to make her sweet face stand out against the otherwise  black and white. You do that by just pressing a button so it is really easy!

And here are the close ups to go with this layout:

I had so much fun playing with this kit!

I will have a couple more pages from the kit to share a little later in the week/month...

Thank you SO much to Wendy for having me!

Just a quick post for now.

Some days ago I received a mail from a sweet lady who wanted to feature a layout of mine that she had seen on 2 Peas. I said she was welcome to use it, and I just discovered that she used it today.
This is where you can see the post.

Guest Designer Sketchabilities # 48

A couple of weeks ago I made my first entry to one of the beautiful skethes by Karan Gerber at Sketchabilities.
It was for sketch #46 I think. It was during the time we all had so much trouble with Blogger ( I am having some more of that today, but I won't go there....)
Shortly after I had a mail from them asking if I would like to be guest designing and of course tha answer was YES!

This is what I came up with for the current challenge.

And this is  the new sketch . I love the pretty die cut shapes.

I used my DT kit from Your Scrapbook Stash  for this page, mainly "Basic Gray" "Hello Luscious"
I added several layers of patterned papers and embellishments.

Here are some more close up for those who might be interested in a little more detail.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!
Would be nice if you'd leave a comment so I'll know you said hello...

Please come back tomorrow when I have several more new guest designer pages to share with you!

Two good friends. "Les Papiers de Pandore" " Maison de Campagne"

Good morning my dear blog friends!!

Today I will share a page that I made with the beautiful collection from "Les Papiers de Pandore" called "Maison de Campagne". That means House in the Country and  the papers are so soft and pretty and rosey that  they could well be taken from the walls of a beautiful house in a rural surrounding!
I just love them!

The picture is of Beatrice and our cat Lady. One will rarely go anywhere without the other. Except for when Beatrice is at school of course....

I think the beautiful papers speak for themselves. They are a delight to work with. The patterns are printed using soybased inks that are environmentally friendly.

I have long wanted to use a big bow on a layout, but I find they are so difficult to make. They are to me anyway... I  probably cheated a little on this one, but at least I got my bow!

I made a template for the diecut paper and used my trusted edge scraper to roughen up the edges of my papers. I painted on the edges and when the paint was  was dry I inked around with brown to make the page fitting for an old country house setting,.. :-D !

In these close ups you can see the flower clusters better.

Recently I got my hands on a bunch of pretty mulberry flowers, and I think you will see alot of those in my next layouts.

As usual I could not resist adding some painted corrugated cardboard. I love the texture it adds!

I think the two friends look so cute in this picture. I converted it to black and white because her cardigan was turquoise and thet did not match the colour scheme I had chosen.

Converting the colours is so easy if you use Picasa or another free editing program that you can easily find on the net. If you are tempted you should really try it!!

That's all for today, at least I think it is...lol!
I have a lot more pages to share in the coming days, I am just not allowed to show them just yet!

New "Basic Grey" "Hello Luscious" For YSS and CCG 194

I don't get the concept of time, really!
It just keeps going faster and faster when all the time you want it to slow down...Is it the same for you..?

I am being kept quite, quite busy with my design teams and guest designing lately. I love that, I only wish I could have time to enjoy it a little more. I am so happy that so many good things have happened to me the last six months scrapwise, and I am also happy for you  my dear blog readers,..-but now I am just rambling on and I probably dont make any sense, so I'll stop and get on with what I wanted to share today!

In the middle of the night (my time) the new combo at Colour Combos Galore was revealed.
As always I got started on the very last day. And as always I managed to finish it. :-D
This is my take on the colour combination.

And this is the Inspiration board.
These are pretty vibrant colours , but maybe some would see the combo as a little chalenging.
The colours look beautiful together though.
For me the colours feel quite familiar, I did a lot of layouts with Echo Park "For the Record" and these colours can all be found in that collection, among others.

There always have to be flowers, ...and buttons...
As you can see my glue has not even had time to dry properly  ( lol! ) , there's a white dot on the black button.
Actually there was supposed to be numbers too...But being in my usual hurry I missed that and no numbers ended up on my layout this time. I am a bit unhappy about that bcause I think numbers look cool and I rarely think of using them. -Obviously not this time either..LOL! Sorry.

I used my DT kit from Your Scrapbook Stash. This month I got the sweet saturated colours of "Basic Grey".
They call the new collection "Hello Luscious"
The ball fringe in the happy yellow colour is also from YSS. But then you can find almost anything in that store ,...at least when it comes to scrapbooking...lol! The letter stickers are "Jillibean Soup" , "Strawberry Soup" collection. I even got papers from that collection, and the patterns are printed on Kraft paper with soy based inks (which is good for the environment actually).

I love the colour of these pretty flowers. They are like gardenias and I bought these and a some other colours in bulk somewhere so they do not have a particular brand name that I can tell you.

The white flower is Prima's Alabaster. These are good because you can paint or mist them any colour you like. This time I kept them as is.

I really like the look of old bookpages on my layouts. Here I used part of a page and tucked it underneath my mat. The corrugated cardboard was painted and inked around to make it stand out more.

I love the layered look you get by just tucking your embellishments partially into the layers.
If you count the layers I think in some places there are as many as thirteen.

Below you can see some of the distressing (this time I used water), inking and painting close up.
I had a new ide for using buttons.I think sometimes it is hard to get the twine to be pointed enough at the ends to make it go through a hole in the button.I was lucky this time and decided to thread both buttons while my luck lasted. Looking at the two buttons connected I thought it looked kind of sweet, so I decided to keep the buttons tied together like that.

Beatrice is so cute  in this photo. She's got the sun in her eyes and her hat pulled well down over her ears. We were doing some late Autumn gardening and sometimes it is okay to help.

This is my last close up. Hope you are still with me peeps!

Thanks for taking a look.
Why don't you have a go at this colourful combination??

Color Combos Galore 193 Time Together

Time again to share my weekly project for Color Combos Galore.

For those who don't know about CCG, it is a great place to be inspired and to even inspire others.
Every week a new combo is revealed that contains four colours and a design prompt.

This is what you get to play with this week:

GORGEOUS, isn't it?

Love those colours!
I rummaged through my stash thinking that I would have SO MUCH to choose from, while in fact I did not. The pinks were too pink or the greens had too much lime in them. I am quite ok with the ones I found in the end , and I do love that Cosmo C woodgrain paper.
The black paper with white dots is by Webster's Pages.

I did a lot of fiddling with my papers and that was what took me the longest time...

That cute little white doily is courtesy of the fantastic Leeann Pearce whom I admire much!!
Other than that my clusters consist of mini roses, leaves and pink chocolate wrappers.

I hope you can see from the next  picture that the layout is not flat but has quite a lot of dimension.

I added twine behind the black foam stickers for my title to help create more balance on the layout.
And I wanted the twine-lines to town down the stark black of the letters.

Beatrice took this photo of Alexandra and me last week end when we went to visit with my sister in Denmark. Not the most flattering one maybe, but fun!

I matted the b/w photo with black cardstock.

The designer challenge this week was to journal on your page.

Mine says;
"Time goes quickly. For the longest time we have talked about you going to apply for university in England or Scotland. Now that that you were accepted and a date has been set it is getting very close.
I don't think I am ready yet..."

The big clock embellishment was cut from an older Prima paintable. I added some pink pearls to go with the theme.

Well, I am off to work now ladies.
Hope you feel inspired to join in the fun at CCG and I must say I love reading all the beautiful comments you leave me.

Have a lovely day!

Your Scrapbook Stash at OUAS. Second sketch

In my previous post I promised another totally different take on the latest sketch at Once Upon A...Sketch.

This one I did for the YSS blog.

To see the sketch and all the DT and guest DT samples please visit the OUAS blog HERE.

Also look for a for a link to the WINNERS OF THE STASH CASH at YSS at the end of this post!

I have loved the "Pink Paislee" "Sweetness" collection for the longest time, yet this is the first layout I make using those lovely papers.
I turned the sketch on its side to accomodate my picture and  embellishments.

The beautiful golden lace as well as all the pp are from Your Scrapbook Stash. The yellow stickers are  by Pink Paislee and the green letter stickers that are real favourites of mine are October Afternoon.

"Sweetness" is 25% off right now (may be running low) and using the code MAY15 will earn you an additional 15 % off your whole order!! Great isn't it...?

To mimic the circles on the sketch I drew some circles of my own, and did some sewing by hand.
That's a rare thing , but ...hey,.. what will I not do for scrapbooking...?

The cute picture was taken last weekend when we all went to Denmark (except Victoria who was a contestant at Lund in the Swedish finals for the European Youth Parliament....................).
The girls' 14 year old cousin Nicolay, was having his confirmation and we were invited. All went well and Nicolay passed with flying colours.
Some of you may recognize this little man from pics taken at a gathering here for the Swedish tradition of St Lucia in December. He has grown since we last saw him and he will be one in not too long.
Beatrice was proud to be found old enough to be in charge of Silas. He is really a goodtempered boy but at this moment he was getting a bit tired after a long day and not much of a nap.... Who wouldn't be grumpy...?

I just love babies, and with no chance of any more own babies around here it was such a treat to have one to play with. Especially one as sweet as this little boy!

I covered another one of my chipboard pages from 'the same old album' and inked the edges with pink. I used a pencil for some faux stitching and used pop dots to add it to the page.
The OUAS journaling requirement this week is for it to be typed. I stuck the strips on and below the title, more or less in the fashion of the sketch. Journaling is just saying that it is the second time they meet and that Beatrice utterly enjoyed taking care of her baby cousin.
She is also happy that she will have another little cousin, a girl, at the end of August.
That is so great!

I added a pretty mulberry flower and a couple of Prima leaves to balance all the pretty roses from the pp.
The strips were made using an EK Success punch.

I decided to go with black/white for the photograph on this because the colours are very bright and sunny.  I did not want the colours to overwhelm the picture.

A couple of more close ups. This layout was so fun to photograph....lol!

Finally a close up of the gorgeous chipboard corner ornament from Imaginarium Designs.
I have previously told you about Jane at Seriously Scrapbooking sponsoring the OUAS Design Team.
We are so lucky!!

Erica has chosen some random winners for the STASH CASH and you can see the details in her post
