'My Beautiful Family', using 'Invitation' by Les Papiers de Pandore.

Today I have a page for you that goes to show that 'oldie can be goldie'.

I used an older collection by Les Papiers de Pandore for a collection of pictures of my girls amd me. It's called Invitations and it was just lying there in my drawer, still looking so pretty,... I had to pick it up and do something with it. 

Just to let the papers shine I tried to do a version of 'clean and simple here :-) I don't know how much I succeeded though,...

I cut apart the callingcards and placed them on a sheet of patterned paper as frames for my photos.

I used a metallic copper-coloured sheet and one of the papers from the collection to form my title cutting it with a Sizzix alphabet called Alphanumeric. 

This alphabet is fabulous and you get several letters of each so you can cut out long words in one go. Just look at it HERE  (There is also a 'marquee' variation of it...)

I am actually quite into the recent trend to use gold and other shiny metallics on your pages. 

I find it looks very pretty, although here it looks more orange than copper :-)

Just look at the cascade of pretty flowers down the center of the layout. Most are by Prima Marketing, but there are also some from  Norwegian Papirdesign, I Am Roses and others from my stash. The resin key is Ingvild Bolme for Prima and the small green/black stickers are by Basic Gray. 

The word 'remember ' is also a die cut using my Sizzix die set 'Friendship Words', which I really love!! You can see it HERE

'Love my big Girl' Les Papiers de Pandore

Hi all. 

I hope your week end has come off to a great start and that the sun is shining on you. 

We are experiencing both subshine and rain, but that's only to be expected this time of the year in these parts...

Today I have finished a lo I started a while ago for the Oct 10th sketch feature at Pandore. 

Unfortunately I did not have time to finish it in time so I did it today instead. 

I ended up not following the sketch at all.

In just a couple of short weeks we will all be able to scrap with the new beautiful papers etc that Julie has created for us. Of course I have already seen what she has in store for us, and you are going to love it just like I do!!

I used *Invitation* for this simple page and I still enjoy scrapping it a lot, even if I have 

done so many layouts with it already. -I think it is lovely!

 Flowers are by "Manor House Creations". I managed to get hold of some now that they had a warehouse sale. Usually they are very hard to findaround here. And wildely expensive!

The picture is one of Alexandra taken this Summer on our vacations in Provence. 

We enjoy our little photo shoots in the nice weather down there!

I sprayed here and there with some yellow Glimmer Mist and used a Crafters Workshop mask with gesso.

Now I am going to watch NCIS with the girls. It is one of our favourite shows!

'My lovelies'. A page and a cute sketch made from it on the Pandore blog today!

I would like to tell you that  one of my pages is up at the "Les Papiers de Pandore" blog.
It is for the monthly sketch feature that we have on the 10th each month.

Without further ado here is the page and a very pretty and versatile sketch to go with it:

To create my page I used the "Invitation" collection and just added a few pretty flowers and buttons.
I also used two colours of mist (Sprinklers by "October Afternoon").

I think the almost symmetrical design here is quite appealing.

                   I love the splashes of colour added by the distressed paper strips and the buttons.

These photos were taken several years ago at a local beach and have been laying on my desk for a long time. I am happy that I finally got round to  scrapping  them. 

Do you have photos too laying around your scrap space that you want to scrap but keep saving for later?. I know I do that quite a lot...

One of my favourite,relaxing things to do as part of my scrapbooking routine is to cut out a few pretty designs from patterned paper. "Invitation" has some lovely  patterns that are perfect for cutting out to use as embellishments on your layout. All the butterflies here are cut from one sheet.

                          In the next photos I just want to show my layering more close up.

And also a couple of photos showing some of the embellisments....The brown letter stickers were
made by "Pink Paislee" and the pink ones are by "Websters Pages!"

Last day of school is 'Happy Day'! Page using 'Invitation'

 Another share using "Invitation" by Julie Blanc. The picture I have used is of Bea and a friend chillaxing in the garden after having  waved goodbye to school back in June.

Now eight weeks later , school has just started again and the weeks of sleeping in have come to an end!

I wanted to let the papers shine on this page. It is such a beautiful collection and the colours are lovely!

I have some close ups too, that I made into a collage in Picasa. I have made those for a few pages lately. I don't know if that is better than showing the separate pictures like I used to. I think it might be better because the post doesn't get as looong as they normally do. But maybe some of you prefer to look at a lot of different shots. -Iknow I do sometimes... maybe I will do a little of each even in the future.

The chipboard here is by Imaginarium desig. Love their stuff!!

I may not say it very often but, really, I want to say Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog!

Let me say; it would not be the same without you...LOL!

Today I have another page using the latest one of the collections from Les Papiers de Pandore to share with you. This collection is called 'Invitation' and has an utterly feminine feel to it.

The photos are of Victoria our middle daughter who is 17 years old. All of us girls spent a fabulous day out at Warwick Castle while visiting eldest DD Alexandra who is a student in the UK.

Victoria was standing at the entrance to the old tower and I could see it made for a pretty photograph. 'Stand still,...click, click, click... She really looks like she belongs 'there'...lol!

Again I made a collage of closeups to show some of my details on this one.

I started off covering up an older sheet of patterned paper that had a pattern I did not want to use. 

I added stips on top of this 'backing sheet' until I liked the look. I used both punched and plain strips.
I made this during my vacations and I seem to have developed a certain love for using strips on my lo's during that time.... :-) You will see more of those in my next few layouts for Pandore.

I  glued down all my bits and pieces while all the time adding strokes of gesso paint, mist, ink etc to build up the texture and stiffen it up a bit.I used a mixture of home made flowers and store bought.

I also added a lot of yummy buttons that I made messy with some gesso.

Lovely feminine combo for you at Les Papiers de Pandore.

Just got back from my hols a day ago and am loving the chance to get back to my blogging 

and visiting all your blogs again. I had a wonderful time on vacations 

(who can fault three weeks in the Provencal sun...lol..?) 

but it is also nice to be back to 'normal' again.

While in France I scrapped some more pages with the beautiful new collections from 

"Les Papiers de Pandore" called "Invitation" and "UrbanEssence". 

I really hope some of your stores abroad will be carrying them because they are really beautiful.

This is one of my "French" pages. It does not have a lot of bought embellishments as I only brought a small kit with me on holiday. I made it for the July combo.

And here is the lovely colour combo for those who like to take part. If you post your pages on the Pandore  Facebook page, you have a chance to be the winner of some Pandore stamps.

I am very much into using strips of patterned paper on my layouts at the moment.
You will notice that on some of the layouts that I made while on holiday.
-Maybe because I was working out of a small kit... I now need to add some titles and other details to finish off the pages and in a day or two I will have more to share.

The photo is one of Beatrice from the Spring when she still had her long braids.

 A close up of my very simple but to me very decorative lollipop flowers. 

-As I said I was low on supplies while away,...lol. I can truly say that almost everything here is made with the "Invitation" collection!

When I first showed my page to Julie she almost fainted that I could wrinkle her beautiful papers up like that. With a big smile on her face she told me that she always did her utmost for the paper to reach me in pristine condition. I am now afraid that after seeing IRL how I treat her papers maybe next time she will not be so careful....LOL. I am sure she will though, just kidding. And I promise you my next pages will be less wrinkled :-)

It is absolutely right though that I often completely roll the papers up into a ball and pull them in all directions to make them more pliable, if that's the right word.

And sometimes I prefere the nice and flat ones.
