Hello and good morning to all my friends!!
Today I have a beautiful combo to share and a layout I made for it.
Instead of making the monthly combo, sketch and tutorial a part of the webzine as until now, Julie has decided everybody should have a chance to take part and not only the ones subscribing to the newsletter.
To achieve this there will be a schedule on the blog as follows:
On the 10th of each month a sketch
On the 20th each month a colour combo
On the 30th each month a tutorial.
This is the first combo for the blog
I made a layout with a sweet photo of our eldest DD Alexandra and the youngest member of our family, my gorgeous little godchild, Nicole.
I mixed up a few of the recent collections from Les Papiers de Pandore . (If you press the link Julie has added a list of the supplies underneath my layout.)
And also on the Pandore blog you can see the beautiful and stunning cake ornament creation that Parvati made for the combo. She is a real paper whizard!
I chose this title as it reflects the fact that Alex is the oldest and Nicole is the smallest/youngest of the cousins. I used some older Thickers from Ameican Crafts for it.
There is a slight glitter effect to the surface. (And if you look closely you will see that the glue had not yet dried when I took the picture,...it was getting dark quickly!)
I didn't want this page to feel as layered and 'heavy' as some of my other pages.
I wanted the focus to be on the sweet photo and of course the combo.
To avoid it looking too clean and simple I decided to make an ornamental grill of papers with some
half pearls added. I quite like the look and may take some pictures next time to show how easily
it can be made. I just cut strips of paper and added to the page, cutting more as I went.
I did it all freehand but next time I might use the ruler to make it look more tidy.
I hope you like it!
I have been so busy lately with work and travelling that I have a backlog of things I should be blogging about.
Since the end of February I have been to the UK, Frankfurt in Germany and Milan in Italy!
And last Friday I had a dinner date with my lovely friend Eila here in town. Lucky me!
(I will tell you a secret; she's like me...we both looked at the desserts first,...LOL!)
Oh well, I will be back tomorrow.
-And I still have not blogged about who will receive my Liebster awards. I will be giving it to 20 fabulous blogs, but maybe not all at the same time,...
Take care and be good!!
