Two more pages for 13 Arts and a small toot.

Hi friends, today I just want to do a quick share of two pages  made a little while ago for the Polish brand 13 Arts. Aida, aka Ayeeda is the multitalented owner and she has designed two very cool collections so far. You can see the entire collections on the 13 Arts blog.
For my pages I have used a  combination of both collections and they are a perfect match.

I scrapped a cute photo of my niece and god-daughter.
I distressed the papers and cut a frame from the brick-paper. I added bits of the brick paper to different areas of the background as well. I  misted cheese cloth to tie in with my colours, and used mist and gesso as well.

The small roses and the pink 'twig' is by 13 Arts and the large pink bloom is by Manorhouse Creations.

My second page has photos of Beatrice and our kitten Lady.

I used a mask with gesso on top of the patterned paper and also a some chartreuse coloured mist. I painted around the edges with some  green acrylic paint. I recycled a piece of corrugated cardbard as a backdrop for my photos.

The large part of the flowers are by Prima Marketing and some others are from my stash.
The title is cut from one of the patterned papers.

I coloured some white mini roses using Luminarte colours and they came out beautifully coloured and slightly shiny.

I just adore that beautiful deep aubergine coloured flower by Prima Marketing!!

Finally I would like to share a small toot. Another page I made for 13 Arts was noticed by Karen at Manorhouse Creations and is part of their monthly 'Spotted' feature.

Here it is:

Thanks for looking in and thanks for all the kind comments you leave me.

'The Weekend' for Inkido and Once Upon a...Sketch

Hi it's me, Bente again to share a lo with you this beautiful Sunday morning.
I love my Inkido papers and am always looking forward to using them on my layouts together with plenty of flowers.

Todays layout is no exception. I have used flowers, gesso,. mists, gems, and paints on this one to create this soft feminine, rather shabby look that I like. I have distressed all my papers and stitched them to the page using my sewing machine.

I used the latest sketch from Once Upon a Sketch as a base for my page.

I always LOVE Nadias sketches. But surprisingly enough this is actually the first time I post a page to OUAS since I spent a lovely time on the original DT.
I dont't play along with challenges much but will try to up my game.... :-)
I have journaled about how we have enjoyed this last weekend being a calm one,as we are used to being soo busy always. The journaling also continues on the back of the layout.

I used a heart shaped doily as a base for my title. Those bling stones by Inkido add such a lovely shine and they do them in all kinds of colours. The cute butterfly was cut from one of the papers.

A little closer look at the central part of the layout.

And here's a closie of the stitched banners.

Thanks for dropping by! I hope you take some inspiration from my page and that I will see you here again soon!! Enjoy your Sunday!!

'Play' -for the new combo at Les Papiers de Pandore.

Yay, time for a new beautiful colour combination at Les papiers de Pandore. Lovely springy colours to try and make us forget this apparently eternal winter we are experiencing at he moment. Last night we got about 8 new centimetres of snow at our house....

Here is my page for the combo:

I wanted to use a different photo for this originally but had ran out of ink for my printer so I had to use this older, but cute photo of Beatrice as a cat :-)

Here is the photo of the gorgeous combo we use as inspiration:

I am also entering this into the challenge over at Berry72Blue to use paint on your lo.

I tore the paper to add texture and together with the mask gesso and mists I used I think I created a pretty shabby atmosphere for the photo. I painted and doodled on everything, even the flowers.

The little threads you can see are drawn from cheesecloth and misted yellow. I have used a mix of older and newer collections on this; Lovely Birds, Little Winter Circus and Invitation.
These are all beautiful well made collections by Julie Blanc who is a really wonderful artist
and designer. I absolutely love her work!!

Of course I had to add some pretty flowers here as always.
These are from my stash and by Prima and Petaloo. The tiny ones are by Papirdesign.

I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of my humongous washi-tape collection on this lo. After some thinking I decided to make small pennants and use as a banner with some string.
I picked tapes that had the colours of the combo and cut off pieces of ca 5 centimetres.
I made sure the string was in the middle of the tape before  sticking the two sides of the tape together. Then with some scissors I just cut the right shape.
It could be quite fun to use scalloped scissors for this as well.

I used a ribbon holder chipboard from Dusty Attic as a base for my title. I gave it a lick of gesso and let it dry. Then I used the same gesso through a script mask and misted with yellow glimmermist. Then all thet was left was to doodle with a slick writer from American Crafts around the edges. The letter stickers are fabric ones by Prima.

That was all for today. Why don't you pay a visit to the Pandore blog to see what the others made....? I wish you all a wonderful week end!
Hugs!

Guest designing at 13 Arts!!!

I was delighted a few weeks ago when I was offered to be a guest designer at 13 Arts, the trendy Polish manufacturer of beautiful scrapbooking papers.
I knew of their two collections and also of their awesome and very talented owner/designer Aida Domisiewicz aka Ayeeda in the scrapping world, from among other places the CSI site. She makes the most beautiful textured pages. -And as you will see she even designs lovely papers.
The latest news is that she is brancghing out into mists, gesso etc for mixed media work.

Here is the first of three pages I have made so far, and I have a couple more in the pipline so to speak...

I primed my paper with gesso and used a mask with large dots. I used different mists and ink on top and blended them. I wanted to accent the pink colours in the paper and show that they can easily be adapted to a romantic style.

The pretty yellow flower is by Manorhouse Creations as well as the pink one.
The white rose is from 13 Arts. I cut my title from the accessories-sheet which has a lot of great elements like banners and stuff.

I love the look of the brick patterned paper. I cut a frame from it to go all along the edges of my page. I added some cute pink buttons from Doodlebug as a contrast to the paint and shabbiness of the overall page.
The cute frame was made using a Sissix framelits die. It is one of my faves at the moment.
And for the fence I used a die by Cheery Lynn.

That's all for today my friends. I make this a quick one as I am having internet trouble (...again..!) and am typing this at work after hours....
I hope you like my page and will be back to see the rest of what I made for 13 Arts.
Soon I'll be back to share the new colour combo from Les Papiers de Pandore and my take on it!

Hugs, and thanks for any comments!

Winner of my RAK for the Spring Fling hop and a card for baptism.

Hi! Just a quick post today with a card I made for a baptism of a beautiful baby girl last Saturday.
I wanted to have a handmande card, and was able to make one really quick one using some of my scraps and a few embellies. I used the collection 'Beautiful Memories ' from Inkido which has quite a few designs that are perfect for these occations. The baby-image was cut from one of the sheets that has so many of these similar designs. Really quite a perfect supply to have at home if you have many babies 'near you'.

This card is up on the Inkido blog today together with a layout that I shared a few days ago as my contribution to the Scrap 4 Help challenge for March

Scroll down to the previous post if you would like to see more close ups of this one .-)

We also have a challenge at the Inkido blog right now, hosted by Kelly.

Now to the announcement you have been waiting for.... Ta daaa...
My winner is:

My commenter number 20 is

Scrap For Help March challenge. Inkido 'Beautiful memories'.

For the PaperHaus Spring Fling hop scroll down a couple of posts!!

Hi, I cannot believe how fast time flies!!
Already nearly a week into the month of March... This month is widely regarded as the beginning of Spring in these parts, and I may say it is a bit hopeful actually. The days are getting longer and the light is returning. It's great!

Today I want to show you what I made for the March challenge at Scrap For Help.

The design team has been using both burlap and gauze so I think that would be ok!

I made this page with the new collection from Inkido called 'Beautiful Memories' a feminine and lovely collection full of pretty elements to fussy cut and combine.

Here are some close ups of some of my details and of the pretty flowers and other embellishments that I have used. I used a Spellbinders die for the circles and some scalloped scissors to cut out the round mat for my photo.

The challenge said to use gauze, and so I did. I cut small square pieces of the fabric and sprayed it with mist. After it dried i pulled loose the threads and made little 'nests' with them. I then added these to different areas of my page as embellishments to compliment the flowers.

This wouldn't be a layout by me unless I added some stiches to it  here and there....
I added some texture to the die cut rounds by going backwards and forwards a few times with the sewing machine over the cardstock.

I fussy cut plenty of pretty butterflies in different sizes and added a tiny blue chrystal to them.
They are flying all over my page at the moment :-)

Here are a few of the pretty papers I used:

That's all for now. Enjoy the rest of your day!! <3
