'Carpe Diem', for Papirdesign

Once again I enjoyed pulling out my collection of lovely papers from Papirdesign to make a page for my regular post there. I had some photos taken last Summer that went very well with that rose paper.

I incorporated into my design some tags made from other patterned paper and also cut out a doily with my Silhouette Cameo. I cut the doily in two and used both above and underneath my photo.

I used lots of the Papirdesign mini roses in my clusters. I just love them!
Actually everything on this layout was made by Papirdesign except for two of the flowers.
Have you noticed the dainty blue gardenia flower in the lower right hand corner? It is a new style for PD and they come in a lot of different pretty colours.

Love the bling swirl too. Papirdesign have awesome swirls and they are so huge you can divide and use them on several projects. This time I kept the backing foil and just cut around the bling. I like the effect it creates and I find it adds more texture.

Lately I go through a lot of thread on my sewing-machine LOL! I do a lot of stitching and so even on this page. It actually takes quite a bit of time but I like the look.

Thanks for dropping by to check out my page!

Guest designing at Lillblomman Skissar. Inkido layout.

Hi peeps! Today I have a lovely sketch to share with you and also a layout to go with it.
A good while ago I was asked by my double team mate Ulrika aka Lillblomman if
I would like to be the October guest on her sketch blog Lillblomman skissar

Those who have been around for a while know that I love me a good sketch so of course I said yes!!

This is the beautiful sketch that Ulrika made just for me! :-)

I used papers from Inkido one of the DT's that Ulrika and I share and they are also this months sponsors. The base paper is called Cartas de Amor, royal red. The rest of the papers are from the ''Beautiful Memories'' collection.
Firstly,...I don't know what makes this lo so hard to photograph,
I took pictures three days in a row without any improvement and finally ended up sending
the first set to Ulrika in the end . Personally I think it looks a lot better IRL :-)

I used a mixture of flowers here , both Prima and others from my stash and some mini roses etc from Inkido. The bling stones and the  lovely embroidered sheer ribbon is also from Inkido.

I used Rangers distress ink for my pink bricks and as you can see I put my sewing machine to good use again as well. :-)

There are several round design elements in this sketch and I used my Silhouette to make different corresponding shapes that I added to my page.

I love the delicate and feminne touch that you get from adding liquid pearl in different areas
of a page. They are such pretty accents.

I hope you liked my page and feel tempted to try this sketch.

You have got the whole month to join in and I would be delighted to see you there.
The lucky winner will receive the new lovely new Christmas collection from the sponsor:

called ''Happy Christmas''and a meter of glorious lace.

Hugs!! :-)

A closer look at my GD page for Scrap Around the World.(And some bragging :-) )

This is the page I made recently as a guest designer for
Inkido was a previous sponsor and we were delighted when Helen asked us to interpret the September mood board. This is such a fun challenge!
I promised I would post some close ups of my page today so here goes .-)

And here is a picture of the mood board and sketch for Gayle's challenge.
Isn't it just gorgeous?!!

I started out taking inspiration from the stripes (background sheet), the words 'flying' out from the head (my butterflies), the large title (also a quote) and the black and white photo of a person.
I also did a loose interpretation of the available sketch, picking just a few  of the elements.

I fussy cut a lot of tiny flowers from one of the sheets in the 'Beautiful Memories' collection.
I believe the flowers are are poppies.

I picked Inkido's  small butterfly stamp  and combined it with some other butterflies that I cut out. They were all embellished with some bling and pearl stones. Inkido do these in several colours and they are so great to add to all kinds of projects.

I find the internet is such a great source when you are searching for various inspiration, and for
this challenge I decided I needed a good quote. This was just one of several quotes that I found.

After cutting out the words with my Silhouette Cameo I backed them with pink paper, except for the words black and white that I wanted to stand out against the background.
As you can see from this close up I also added some freestyle sewing with my machine. I find it adds a lot of interest without being intrusive or  taking anything away from the design.

Talking of design,.... I was very pleased to finf out this page was a winner in the latest challenge over at Scrap & Music. I have hardly taken part in any challenges lately but that is something I would like to change ,.)

Thanks for checking out my page today. :-)
There is still a lot of time to take part in the challenge at SATW, or why not Sabrinas September challenge at Inkido to use layers and borders?

Hugs!

'Memories' using the new Inkido 'Beautiful Memories 2'

A few days ago I received the new collection from Inkido in the mail. I love the new colours they have come up with, and all is made to mix and match perfectly with the previous release
'Beautiful Memories'.

Here is my first lo with the new papers:
(I noticed  there's a little fly that wanted to be in the shot,...can you see it?)

And of course the usual lot of close ups,...-if you get bored just scroll on down... :-)

A short while ago I bought my new toy from Cassie at Paper Issues
Yup, I am now the proud owner of a brand new Silhouette Cameo.
I was a bit worried that I would find the learning process a bit tedious and just leave it in the box more or less, but that has not been the case. Together with my 12 year-old I unpacked it and installed it and it was actually not hard at all. I imagine it will take some time before I feel I can grasp all the details and possibilities but I can already do many of the things I wanted it for!!

( Remember that using my code BENTE20 will take 20% off the price at checkout at PI. )

I based my page on several layers.
All the papers I layered  are from the new Inkido collection called 'Beautiful Memories 2'.
I have mainly used the beige group of papers here as well as one of the pink ones.
The first layer got some gesso and a lick of paint around the edges. I used one of my fave Martha Stewart large punches on layer number two. And finally for my third background sheet I arrived at using my new Cameo toy. cut out a grid on almost a whole sheet of paper. I think that is so neat!!

Even the title was cut with my new electronic toy and I love the way it turned out.
The titles were actually one of the main reasons I started looking into buying one.

A couple of more close ups of the pretty Inkido products.
I have added a few Prima flowers here but the majority of the flowers are from Inkido.
And I also added some of their bling stones in pink.

I am also entering this into the challege to use doilies on your project at Little Red Wagon.

I hope you liked my page and thanks for any friendly messages you may leave me :-)

Hugs!!

'The Weekend' for Inkido and Once Upon a...Sketch

Hi it's me, Bente again to share a lo with you this beautiful Sunday morning.
I love my Inkido papers and am always looking forward to using them on my layouts together with plenty of flowers.

Todays layout is no exception. I have used flowers, gesso,. mists, gems, and paints on this one to create this soft feminine, rather shabby look that I like. I have distressed all my papers and stitched them to the page using my sewing machine.

I used the latest sketch from Once Upon a Sketch as a base for my page.

I always LOVE Nadias sketches. But surprisingly enough this is actually the first time I post a page to OUAS since I spent a lovely time on the original DT.
I dont't play along with challenges much but will try to up my game.... :-)
I have journaled about how we have enjoyed this last weekend being a calm one,as we are used to being soo busy always. The journaling also continues on the back of the layout.

I used a heart shaped doily as a base for my title. Those bling stones by Inkido add such a lovely shine and they do them in all kinds of colours. The cute butterfly was cut from one of the papers.

A little closer look at the central part of the layout.

And here's a closie of the stitched banners.

Thanks for dropping by! I hope you take some inspiration from my page and that I will see you here again soon!! Enjoy your Sunday!!

Winner of my RAK for the Spring Fling hop and a card for baptism.

Hi! Just a quick post today with a card I made for a baptism of a beautiful baby girl last Saturday.
I wanted to have a handmande card, and was able to make one really quick one using some of my scraps and a few embellies. I used the collection 'Beautiful Memories ' from Inkido which has quite a few designs that are perfect for these occations. The baby-image was cut from one of the sheets that has so many of these similar designs. Really quite a perfect supply to have at home if you have many babies 'near you'.

This card is up on the Inkido blog today together with a layout that I shared a few days ago as my contribution to the Scrap 4 Help challenge for March

Scroll down to the previous post if you would like to see more close ups of this one .-)

We also have a challenge at the Inkido blog right now, hosted by Kelly.

Now to the announcement you have been waiting for.... Ta daaa...
My winner is:

My commenter number 20 is

Pam: Love your LO ! The stitching is awesome.

(Please get in touch with me with your address within a week.)

Hugs, Bente!!

Some feminine cards, -mixed media 'light'.

I did a couple of cards last week that I'd like to share with you today.
I used papers and embellishments from Norwegian brand "Papirdesign".

The first photo thoughis just for fun. It's our smallest family member Lady, checking my card to see if it is ok to go on the blog :-) She always takes such an interest when I try to photograph my projects.
She is such a cutie!!

I used a lot of gesso, paint, and mist on these to create a textured background for my flowers and sentiment. I stitched the patterned paper to a Bazzil background .

I used my Martha Stewart punches to" pretty up" the bottom edge of my cards.
The diecut frame is by Sizzix.

Flowers and leaves of different sizes and shapes as well as half pearls are by Papirdesign.

On this second card I used a light green paint through two different masks by Panduro.

In addition to the Prima hydrangeas and the Inkido flower center the embellies here are by Papirdesign. I used part of a white swirl and some pretty mini roses in addition to the lilac chipboard heart.

I hope you enjoyed my two cards and feel insired to create yor own!
As always thank you so much for visiting me here and for your kind comments that I so love to read!
Hugs!!

"So Special" - My first post for Inkido

Hi all you sweet blog friends out there!

I feel like I have been slightly missing in action lately due to my internet problems and now being away for three days with my DD's Victoria and Beatrice on violin camp. I am in charge of making all the meals etc during our stay so I don't really get to see much of the youngster except, for during the meals of coure. We are three people helping out and it's hard work and long hours. But also a lot of fun. I wish I had more time to go out take pictures of the surroundings because it is so so pretty here.

Anyhow, I am delighted to share my first page for Inkido with you today.

All the patterned papers are by Inkido, and I love these designs because of their small patterns. They do not distract from the photos. This particular photo is a lucky shot of my middle DD Victoria before getting on the school bus one morning. (Some people have just got "it"

On the paper that I cut into a circle with scalloped scissors I stitched a grid and added liquid pearls.
I think it adds a nice texture to the layout.

I love the abundance of yummy flowers clustered together and those pretty blingy stones.

To add even more texture I pleated a piece of light blue paper and added it underneaath the photo.
I was planning on placing some of those awesome Inkido on top all the time, but may have gone a little over the top as now the pleats are almost entirely covered up...LOL!

Love those pink chrystals too. They came in two shades, tone in tone.

Another close up, this time to show some of the layering.

Ok, that's another Winter page done,...at least sort of. I am not very fond of the cold and am looking forward to the Spring sun gracing us with it's company.
Please head over to Inkido as well to see my post as I have added photos of some of the products that I used here. Thanks for dropping by. Mwoahh!
