"So Special" - My first post for Inkido

Hi all you sweet blog friends out there!

I feel like I have been slightly missing in action lately due to my internet problems and now being away for three days with my DD's Victoria and Beatrice on violin camp. I am in charge of making all the meals etc during our stay so I don't really get to see much of the youngster except, for during the meals of coure. We are three people helping out and it's hard work and long hours. But also a lot of fun. I wish I had more time to go out take pictures of the surroundings because it is so so pretty here.

Anyhow, I am delighted to share my first page for Inkido with you today.

All the patterned papers are by Inkido, and I love these designs because of their small patterns. They do not distract from the photos. This particular photo is a lucky shot of my middle DD Victoria before getting on the school bus one morning. (Some people have just got "it" ) 

On the paper that I cut into a circle with scalloped scissors I stitched a grid and added liquid pearls. 

I think it adds a nice texture to the layout.

I love the abundance of yummy flowers clustered together and those pretty blingy stones.

To add even more texture I pleated a piece of light blue paper and added it underneaath the photo.
I was planning on placing some of those awesome Inkido on top all the time, but may have gone a little over the top as now the pleats are almost entirely covered up...LOL!

Love those pink chrystals too. They came in two shades, tone in tone.

Ok, that's another Winter page done,...at least sort of. I am not very fond of the cold and am looking forward to the Spring sun gracing us with it's company.

A card for the new combo at Pandore

As always around the 20th of the month there is a new colour combo at Les Papiers de Pandore.

This time I decided to make a quick card.

And here is the inspiration photo with the colours:

Most of my elements here are die cut from Pandore papers or cut from the patterns like the butterfly.

All the patterned papers have different strips at the bottom and I used one of those to make my paper ribbon. I think that music-notes pattern is so cute. 

I simply formed the strip into a ribbon shape and stapled in place before glueing it to the brown circle.

I am off to do some more work now. I am having some difficulty getting around to as many of your blogs and commenting as I would like as I am having some internet-trouble again....
Mostly surfing on the IPad works but commenting does not work very well!!
Hoefully I will soon find a way to fix it and I'll be back!

Pink and grey combo,..an older layout that will finally see the light.

Today I have a layout I made months ago but have been holding on to just in case,... I made it for a combo at Color Combos Galore the once so fabulous challenge site that unfortunately seems to be gone for good this time...So I'll go ahead and post this:

This is my original post in which I have just edited away a few things.

We were given some lovely feminine colours and I decided to do a layout about Alexandra,
our eldest daughter, from when she had her 20th birthday.

An assortment of different flowers here. I added mini roses and bling to the centers.

These stickers are made by Pink Paislee. They came in my warehouse box last year and I still had not opened them. I quite like the look of them though...

I took a piece of light coloured cardstock, or you could use lightweight cardboard, and painted with snow paint. I think gesso too would be great for this. After I dried it with my hair drier ( I am impatient when I'm creating...) I cut it into little pieces of 'brick'.

I think it adds a cute effect to my page and I am sure I will be doing something similar again soon.

Most of the papers here are from MME  Miss Caroline. I love that musical paper that I used for my border around the edge.

If you look closely you can see I used my trusted sewing machine again to add texture to the required round element in the middle. I think it shows up better in the first photo of the whole page.

I hope these feminine summery colours were able to add a little brightness to this dreary Autumn/Winter weather. At least all the grey gives us a good excuse to stay inside with a cup of cocoa!

A new Design team for me!! So excited!!

Hi and happy Thursday to you indeed!!

Today I have some Happy Scrappy news to share. Yes, finally I can share the news that I am a new deigner with Inkido, Papercrafts Scandinavia. I was originally asked to be a guest designer and now I am happy to say that I will in fact be staying the whole year!!!

  

It has been a hard secret to keep as most of the other girls have already been announced. -And I wanted my name to be 'out' too :-) If you check out the Inkido blog you will see that I am in very good company. From next week we will start posting our projects. Only today I received the new Collection designed by Lise-Lotte Leksell called "Beautiful Memories" hot off the press and you can seee it here:

Just these last few days Inkido has been present at  the large CHA event in Anaheim US and maybe some of you saw them there!

I cannot wait to start creating with this new collection and am looking forward to sharing my creations with you!

"Bundle Up", my page from PaperHaus Magazine Winter Issue.

I am so happy to share with you my first page published as one of the contributors to "PaperHaus Magazine". I love the way  the Winter Issue turned out and from what I've heard, so did you!!

 

At the moment I am working on my pages for the Spring edition and I know  it will be just as jam packed with awesomeness as the previous one. We have some fabulous special guests booked that will rock your socks. Just sayin'...

In the meantime we are now allowed to share the pages that were published and here is mine: 

I had a bunch of cute wintery photos of Beatrice and I wanted to use them together with these Pink Paislee papers that I had been hoarding. "Snow Day" is one of my favourite Winter collections ever.

This layout is a little different from my usual style but I like to try and adapt to the kind of supplies I am using and I thought this was appropriate for "Snow day". I actually like the way it turned out and there is more layering here than you might think at first sight.

I used a die from "Spellbinders" to make the snow flakes and added a small bling stone to each.

The cute snowman an his girlfriend are very similar to the die cuts that come with the collection , but these were actually cut from the back of the packaging using a craft knife. 

They are slightly smaller than the original. But as the saying goes; waste not want not... :-)

 And as you can see I put my sewing machine to good use.

 I used pop dots to raise some of my elements off the page.

Lucia celebration, Papirdesign

Hi, I'm back to share a layout about a typical Swedish tradition celebrating Santa Lucia. 

It is a festival of light taking place on December 13th. We really appreciate the lights so much during the darkest period of the year here in the northern parts of Europe.

Normally I find it hard to scrap this kind of photos, but using the new Christmas papers from Papirdesign (and some of the other beautiful products they make) really helped make a lo that I actually quite like!

I used some Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn dies  and a mask by Prima Marketing. 

I added some glitter to the dots and some other places in the design to make it more festive.

Pop dots behind the cut out elements help add dimension to my page. I love the sweet cherubs and the glittery chipboard stars as well as all the flowers.

I have combined the latest collection with some earlier Christmas papers.

"Mens vi venter" "Munter Melodi" has ready printed banners just for you to cut out. How neat is that!

I hope you like my Lucia page and that I was able to provide a little scrapping-inspiration on the way. Tomorrow we are back to work/school and all the regular chores! 

And hopefully I can sneak in som scrappy-time just for me.

First challenge of 2013 at Scrap For Help using Prima "Tea Thyme"-collection. And Project Life at Paper Issues.

Hello everyone!

This is only the second day of the new year and I am here to share my  my first post of 2013 and coincidentally also my first post as a Design Team member of the challenge blog Scrap For Help.

The fun challenge this month is to use string/twine on your project and you may use it in any way you like as long as you explain it to us.

One of the ideas on S4H is to use recycled materials, and I am sure you all have lots of left-over string from all the Christmas presents you received!! 

We want you to think outside the box and most of all: HAVE FUN CREATING!!

  This is what I made :

 Below you can see a photo of what my half finished layout looked like. I normally don't have a plan for my design, and that is probably why my lo's take long to make...I knew I wanted to use my Dusty Attic "Lacing Tash" chipboard in combination with the string challenge: but that was all....

 I used papers from Prima Marketing's beautiful "Tea Thyme" collection. I love the subtle patterns of this collection.

 

 And here are a few close ups as always,...-we all like to get a closer look,..right?

 I really love this pretty photo of Victoria. It was taken a couple of weeks before her 18th birthday as she was going off to school one day.

 I used a mask from Crafters Workshop and some coloured paste from Pebeo.

I added  little dots made with a bead/paper pen in colour 'dark chestnut'. Lots of flowers here from different Prima collections and the butterflies are made using a Martha Stewart punch.

It was a little tricky getting the finish slightly neat-looking, but I am satisfied that it looks ok.

I cut one of the long chipboard pieces in two  and that turned out to be just the right size.

Finally a look of the finished layout without the frame.
