A Spring page in December

Today I have a project to share that I made for the Sizzix UK DT a while back,
but I just realized that I probably did not post it here on my own blog.
It has awith a picture that we took in Spring which now seems a long time ago
We were enjoying a late May afternoon at the nearest beach.
Hopefully it can do a little to brighten up these grey days we are having. :-)

I used an old cardboard box to diecut my Frameworks Trellis and wanted to do something fun with the leftover bits. I used a stencil with gesso to make a patterned background and then added the leftover bits that just happened to be the exact same size. I like the effect a lot!

Together with mists and stamps the Trellis create a great background for my black and white picture.

I still love the popular look of the drips from different coloured  media, sometimes the messier
the better :-)

I used my Prima mists to colour the lace flower, which was originally a white one. I also made a Tattered Florals flower, and I don't think anybody has missed that they are really my favourites....
The papers I used here are from one of the Prima ledger pads.

These are the products that I used for my page:

Thank you for looking!!

I used some of the beautiful papers from 7 Dots for this page. The collection is called 'Nature Walk' and was designed by DeeDee Catron.

I also added this page into the Natural Beauty challenge on the 7 Dots blog.

Every child has her own kind of natural beauty and there is nothing lovelier than looking into the eyes of a happy and content child.

The challenge is HERE

And of course no post is really complete without a few close ups :-) :

I painted, distressed and used machine stitching on the papers before adding my photo of this beautiful little boy who is one of the girls' youngest cousins.

The 'brickwork' is  a Tim Holtz die for Sizzix that I cut several times and overlapped on the page. I also diecut the ovals for my itle spot and all those awesome flowers, that I am sure you recognize by now as the Sizzix Bigz die Tattered Florals .-)

I added a couple of larger 'banners' to the lower part of the page and I embellishd the flags with some of the washi tapes that was includede in the kit. I even added some of the clear acrylic flat back pebbles as part of my flower cluster.

The Prima Time Traveler's Memories collection metal clips look so cool and I used one to embellish my title spot. And I also used some lovely flowers from Norwegian manufacturer Papirdesign.

I used the blue cardstock to make some lovely flowers and add some splashes of colour.
I hope you liked it!  I'll be back soon to share some more from this beautiful kit from
Scraps of Elegance.

Hugs!

Papirdesign June challenge, and some pretty cards with flowers on them :-)

We have a new challenge on  the Papirdesign blog lasting no less than two months.
Here is what we say about it:

**It is finally Summer, and we have two moodboards for you for our Summer challenge. Interpret them as you like. You can be inspired by the colors, the pictures, memories or what you like. It would be nice if you tell us what inspired you when you make your project. We have an awesome price for you, that you can win if you use products from Papirdesign. You are of course free to join in anyway;-). No back linking please. Here are the moodboards and what inspired us:**

And here's mood board number two:

I created my card using mood board number one. This is what card number one looks like:

And a couple of close ups:

A Milan Moment.

Hello again.Time to share my latest creation for Inkido!
I made a new page using the Beautiful Memories collection.

The picture is from a trip we made to wonderful Milan a few years back taken in front of the impressing Milan Cathedral. It was really a business trip but we managed to bring our daughters with us to spend some time with them there. There are so many beautiful things to see around the Piazza and so many great coffees to be had :-) And probably Europe's most expensive ice cream on Piazza del Duomo

This is the view from the cafe right oposite the majestic Cathedral.

And here are some close ups of my page for you:

I made some different flowers using my favourite Sizzix flower die and one of the pretty Inkido papers.

I used my border punches to give the papers  and layers an even more feminine expression.

Here you can see how well these papers go together. The colours are so soft and gorgeous.
I used a metal 'Junkyard Findings' by Ingvild Bolme called 'Antique Garden Sink', as well as some
beautiful Prima flowers.

Thanks for dropping by and thanks for looking. I hope you like my Milan page :-)

An altered sweetbox for Papirdesign and Sizzix UK

Hello all you scrappy friends!!

Today I have a decorated box to share. It's decorated with great products from Papirdesign.
I plan to add a small gift to the inside and give it to a friend who has a birthday soon.
This was the box I made for my Sunday post on the Sizzix UK blog and so far here on my blog I only shared a small sneak.

After eating all the Turkish Delights in the box I did not feel like throwing it away so
I used paper from the Spring collection 'Forventning' to dress it up.

I cut out patterned papers a little haphazardly and glued them to the lid.
Firstly one pattern to the top and then another pattern for the side.
I added a strip of sequin ribbon to cover up where the papers meet.

I used some great dies by Sizzix to decorate the lid. (Links below) After cutting and glueing down a trellies pattern I added a couple of mini rosettes and then a large handmade flower on top. I used pop dots to add dimension.

A few more close ups:

I just think those larger peony buds from Papirdesign are sooo lovely!!

I hope you liked this.
I'll leave you with some advise; ...
Eat lots of Turkish Delights (or other sweets) and you'll have your own box to alter :-) LOL!
Have a good day!

Using 'Tattered florals', my Sunday post for the Sizzix UK blog

Today is Sunday and I am up at the Sizzix UK blog with a sweet layout to share.

The link below will take you to the special place where all will be revealed :-)
Here is a sneak of my page.

The people in the  beautiful photo is my sister and one of our youngest nephews who lives in Denmark. So we do not get to see him or his family very often.

I am sending this page to my sister in Norway so it can sit on a shelf in her scrap-room :-)
